Leopard.

Known for their stealth and strength, these elusive cats can drag prey twice their weight up a tree to dine in peace! In Kruger, one of South Africa’s premier safari destinations, spotting this majestic predator is a heart-pounding thrill. The San people believe leopards embody cunning and survival, a spirit of the wild that commands respect. 🌄✨

Burchell’s Plains Zebra (Equus quagga burchellii) or as we like to call them “disco donkeys or bushveld barcodes”

These zebras pack a powerful backward kick that can shatter a lion’s jaw but the injuries that fighting stallions often inflict on each other can be far worse.

Their unique stripes aren’t just for show; they deter biting flies and help regulate body temperature under the scorching sun. 🦟☀️

In San African folklore, the zebra got its stripes after a fierce fight with a greedy baboon over a waterhole—the zebra stumbled into a fire, emerging scorched but striped forever! 🔥📜

The dry season is without doubt the best time to look for Cheetah in Kruger. Wide open spaces, vast grasslands and long views make finding them easier than the thick green summer season.

If it’s cats that you want to photograph then May to August are your best months to Safari.

The dry season is in full swing in Kruger and know where is it better depicted than in the northern stretches where water points create wonderful gatherings of many animals.

With roughly 34,000 Elephant in Kruger that means about a million litres of water are being consumed daily by the Elephants alone.

A giant of a Cape Buffalo bull.

With a population of around 40,000, Kruger is home to some of the most beautiful wide bossed bulls in Africa thanks the a 100 years of protection, perfect habitat and a good genetic pool.

In the early 2000’s the population was heavily impacted by BTB (bovine tuberculoses) but has since responded successfully through park interventions
