Did You Know?

The cross standing high on the rocks along the Great North Road between Lavushimanda and Mpika was not erected by early European missionaries as many believe.

It was actually put up in 2021 by the Christian communities of Mpumba and Mununga in Lavushimanda District, led by a Catholic priest under Our Lady of Fátima Parish. The cross was erected to signify the presence of the Catholic Mission in the area, with support from local believers and even other churches like UCZ.

Today, the site has become a prayer stop for locals and travelers.
