Zambian Association of Indigenous Tour Operators Association of Tour Operators in Zambia

The Zambia Association of Tour Operators finds it intriguing that local and international dignitaries, past and present Presidents fail or are not given the opportunity to visit the David Livingstone Museum when visiting Livingstone. We respectfully request President Hakainde Hichilema as our chief marketer to break this long-standing tradition. Our History and Heritage is equally as important and captivating as the Victoria Falls and other tourist attractions, if not more, because the David Livingstone Museum showcases the history of our country, people, traditions, and cultures, defining who we are and serving as our pride and identity.

KHAMA TOLD OFF!

- ‘During (Khama’s) hunting ban, poaching skyrocketed while rural livelihoods suffered’- Conservation Force
- ‘Hunting is an important part of sustainable wildlife management’ -DWNP

A United States–based conservation organisation, Conservation Force, has defended their presence in Botswana amid growing criticism from conservation groups, who accuse the organisation of promoting trophy hunting in the country.

Conservation Force recently came under scrutiny, with former Botswana President Ian Khama leading criticism against them, questioning if the group has been influencing Botswana’s wildlife conservation policies.Speaking at Ntloya Dikgosi, Khama asked if Conservation Force assisted in drafting Botswana’s elephant and leopard management plans, and questioned why external lobby groups should influence national wildlife policy and quota-setting instead of local scientists and institutions.

This is a great initiative by the ministry and much appreciated but what about the other tourism less active areas in the country especially those that have great potential like the Northern side of the country? This would greatly improve and enhance tourism areas that completely lack the skills and knowledge. We need that for tourism development across the country. Livingstone at least even has in-house trainings but the other regions have completely nothing as the establishments need so much knowledge and skills. We believe that would be a fair approach. Anyway, this is great for Livingstone as a constituency and district.
