A giraffe’s tongue can grow up to 50 cm long and is dark blue-purple in color.

This unique coloration helps protect it from sunburn as giraffes spend many hours feeding on leaves high up in the trees. Their long tongues also help them reach around sharp thorns when eating from acacia trees.

Nature has equipped every animal with amazing adaptations for survival.

A look back at our recent very successful Bush Skills Camp with 41 fourth graders of the American International School of Lusaka.

The kids took part in hiking, archery, knot making, orientation techniques, stargazing, fire making and shelter building and had lots of fun!
