FARE SEASONALITY

Airline ticket prices are determined by seasons (times when people move alot). There is high and low seasons. In the high season (mostly May to October) prices for tickets increase due to high demand. This is because many people especially western countries travel a lot during this period. In the low season (November to March, except for second half of December and first week of January which are considered to be high season) prices for tickets are low as demand for travel is less.

The low season is the best time to travel on a budget. If you traveling in the high season, its advisable to buy a ticket weeks or even months before the travel date so that you can get a cheaper fare.

However, always remember, the cheaper a ticket is the more expensive it becomes in case of date changes and refunds.

Merry Christmas and a prosperous 2023 to you.

Ticketing Time Limit (TTL) is the time the airline gives as deadline for paying (issuing a flight ticket) before they cancel your reservation. Always ask for the ticketing time limit whenever you make a flight reservation and are not ready to pay for it. This will help you to plan accordingly and avoid dramatic price changes at the time you are ready to pay for your ticket.

In the event that you have purchased a flight ticket and the airline cancels the flight due to operational reasons, they are obligated to put you on the next available flight or give you a full refund. However, this may not apply if the flight cancellation falls under whats known as 'force majeure' (Act of God- natural disaster, war, etc).

In an event of force majeure the airline will exercise discretion on how to handle the matter. Mostly they will only waive off the change penalty fee but will require you to pay for any differences in fare and taxes. They will only allow refunds for refundable tickets and not for the non-refundable tickets.

Did You Know?

'No-Show' is a term used by airlines when a flight ticket holder does not show up at the check-in counter before the counter is closed. In simple terms it's when a traveler misses the flight they were supposed to get on. With some airlines, a No-show is considered when a passenger does not cancel his/her reservation before the check-in counters close (normally 30 minutes to flight departure), 3hrs before the flight departs or 24hrs before the flight departs.

Some airlines do not allow changes to or refunds of tickets if a traveler is a No-Show. The ticket is forfeited and you lose the money paid for it. Therefore, always check the rules of the ticket you are buying before paying for it.
