18 -22nd April 2016: Such a pleasure to be here

Thank you Elize and team for the warm friendly welcome to Leopard-lodge. We will remember the stay under the full moon, the fire, braais and dinner at the lapa. Not forgetting “Max” the hippo grazing a short distance away.

Thank you Reuben for being an excellent fishing guide and the good company with your giggling infectious laugh. Your skills putting worms on the hook are commendable

We spotted the lions on our last night’s stay by following the spoor in the morning.

To all the guides and staff, Jo, David and Reuben thank you for wonderful stay.

May God Bless you all.

We are back after the rainy season. On our arrival the roads were still very wet, the bush was still thick and lush and the grass green and tall. Ever since our return we have had an elephant around the Chalets and in the Lodge grounds. Our resident hippo, Max, has not moved away and as always he waits until the sun sets before he makes his appearance on the lawn but he also likes to graze around the chalets where the grass is shorter. Green Season Special

Already the bush is beginning to change and when the rains start the Kafue is transformed into a lush green wonderland. The trees get thick with new leaves, and their flowers release a wonderful perfume.

Migrant birds return to utilise this abundance of food and in some cases to breed, making this a haven for birders. Fishing is also excellent and the animals are giving birth, making it far easier for the predators.

This season is full of new life and stunningly beautiful; an experience not to be missed.

Hence to give you no excuse to witness all these pleasures we are running a special:

From the 24 November: US175 per person per night

This includes:
Coffee, tea, rusks and cereals early
Brunch and dinner
Coffee, tea & juices throughout the day
2 activities per day

Please note: If we experience high seasonal rainfall, activities may be limited to boat cruises and fishing (bring your own fishing tackle and bait). Hence the above rate does not include Park fees.

The last two months has been very windy and now most of the trees have finally lost all their leaves, making game viewing exceptionally good. Towards the end of September some trees, such as the Pink Jacaranda, started to bloom, giving a pleasant fragrance around camp. The lodge grounds are full of lion or leopard tracks every morning and their roars and growls can also be heard at night. [ 408 more words. ]
