Five CDF projects commissioned/Empowerment grants disbursed

Samfya Town Council has commission five projects worth over seven million kwacha.

The colorful event graced by the Permanent Secretary for Luapula Province Mrs. Prudence Chinama saw the official commissioning of Mabo K***a and Chisanka Maternity annexes, the first ever District Library, Chinsanka Market and Bangwulu Nursing School.

In addition, one hundred and twenty-four groups received empowerment grants amounting to two million four hundred and ninety thousand.

The event was attended by Chief Mulakwa, various Civil Society Organizations, political parties, government officials and the general public.

Material for the completion of Musenga Wampeshi Rural Health Center delivered to site.
Works on the stalled project have since commenced.
Musenga is a rural settlement located in the South West of Samfya along the banks of Luapula River about 140 km from the Central Business District.

Local Government and Rural Development Permanent Secretary for Administration Dr. Gabriel Pollen tours Samfya to appreciate the government's development quest in the District.
Dr. Pollen inspected some Constituency Development Funded projects as well as other projects being implemented using other government funds.
The PS took time to pay courtesy call on Senior Chief Kalasa Mukoso and Chief Kasoma Bangweulu at their palaces.

Samfya District celebrates Dr. Kenneth Kaunda in style.

The momentous event began with a thirteen-kilometer marathon before the climax of the day where scores of Samfya residents witnessed a match between Samfya Town Council football team and Chilumba football club.
The day ended with a twist as the under fifteen Samfya District Football Team took on the Samfya Rockets Girls and emerged victorious with a lone goal.
The event was graced by Samfya District Commissioner Favourite Musangu with attendance of the Council Chairperson James Kapilila, the Council Secretary Mr. Handson Kachenjela and other senior government officials as well as civic leaders.
