Pombo safaris is run by a local Zambian [Sailor Hakuulu] someone the local people see as a role model. I got influence from a great Zambian tour guide whom was close to me. He did the foundation of this Safaris for about 10 years before he passed away. By that time I never had time to put into a statue because I still had to go to school to become a good tour guide. I did my tour guide school at
Conservation lower Zambezi, and did my field work [Practical] at ‘Chongwe river camp’ for three -and half years. I further did practicals at Kota -Kota Game Reserve for one year. After some years of acquiring some skills and experience I formed POMBO SAFARIS and people have been waiting to see what’s new for Sailor. The idea behind Pombo Safaris is to participate into travel exhibition, improve tourism system in the country [Zambia], help in building the economy, and help the local community in the sense that they are also motivated by the contributions through the products they sell to us. It also feels so natural as part of African culture, the pleassure it brings of being able to communicate with the people across the world by inviting them to the part of our culture which is safari, and get inspired by the tourists for the tours we conduct, and I’ enjoy it very much.
