As the new year starts here is a Safari Highlight – 54 Lions in 2 Days! ✨ from 2025

Guiding two guests on a photographic safari in the northern reaches of Hwange National Park, we witnessed something truly extraordinary — 54 individual lions in just two days!

From prides with playful cubs to lionesses on the move, every encounter seemed to outdo the last. The most dramatic moment came when we found four impressive males feeding on a sub-adult hippo — the sound of their roars and the raw power on display left us all in awe.

Moments like these remind us why Hwange is one of Africa’s great wildlife strongholds. For my guests, it was not only an unforgettable safari but also a chance to capture some once-in-a-lifetime images.
