Excellent news in the new year: Zambia's first all-women anti-poaching unit is making history in wildlife protection. Breaking gender norms in conservation, these dedicated women challenge traditional roles. The initiative promotes inclusivity and gender equality, empowering women and diversifying the workforce in a typically male-dominated field. Rigorous training equips them to combat poaching effectively, ensuring the safety of Zambia's precious wildlife.

Beyond immediate impact, they inspire a new generation of conservationists, fostering inclusivity and encouraging women in wildlife protection.

April, April.. but unfortunately not an April's fool: A friendly reminder that by now, the Zimbabwe National Parks & Wildlife Authority have increased conservation fees for the Victoria Falls National Park to US$50 per person for international residents.
The Lunar Rainbow Entry Fee will increase to now US$100.00 per person.
This will also affect already booked and confirmed tours. Unfortunately, these changes are out of our control. Rest assured that our team on the ground will ensure though that your experience will be unique and special when you visit this phenomenal natural beauty!

Hideaways Elephant’s Eye Tented Camp in Hwange, Zimbabwe, is starting 2023 with a brand-new outlook on the safari landscape after a soft refurb and upgrades across the board. The camp was Hideaways’ first hand-built eco-lodge in Zimbabwe in 2013.

The numbers of new infections are decreasing, life is getting back to normal.. inclusive precautions and Covid rules and regulations. Still, travellers are hesitant to travel to South Africa... 🐧🐘🐾

Note: Lufthansa increases their flight schedule from Europe to Johannesburg / Cape Town 🛩✈

Obwohl Südafrika bei den Corona-Erkrankungen deutlich besser dasteht als fast alle europäischen Länder, bleibt das Misstrauen gegen Reisen ans Kap groß.
