Chinhoyi Caves Recreational Park is a breathtaking subterranean network of limestone and dolomite caverns managed by ZIMPARKS. Located along the A1 highway just 120 kilometres northwest of Harare, it is famous for its stunningly clear, cobalt-blue water system. It holds protected status as both a national monument and a designated Ramsar Wetland
KEY NATURAL FEATURES:
The Wonder Hole: A massive open-air sinkhole formed by a collapsed cave roof. Its vertical walls drop 45 metres (150 feet) straight down to the water.
The Sleeping Pool (Chirorodziva): The main attraction, known for its ultra-clear, luminous blue water. The water remains at a constant temperature of 22°C (72°F) all year round.
The Dark Cave: A mysterious, unlit section of the cave system that requires a steep, narrow descent down rudimentary steps. It leads out to a viewing point directly over the Sleeping Pool.
