Giraffes 🦒 are the tallest mammal in the world, growing up to 5.5 meters!

Even new-born giraffes are really tall at around 1.8 meters and can normally stand within an hour after of birth.

Giraffes also sleep standing up, but luckily they have one of the shortest sleep requirements, so only need about 2 hours sleep a day

Both male and female giraffes have two distinct, hair-covered horns called ossicones. Male giraffes use their horns to sometimes fight with other males.

Get ready to set sail on OB Joyful, a stunning double-decked pontoon houseboat that promises an unforgettable adventure for up to 12 guests! With a dedicated crew of four—including a skilled Captain, On-board Mechanic, Chef, and Deckhand 🛳.

Whilst OB Joyful is solar powered, the air-conditioning units and the geyser still run off the generator and this is shut down at 22:00hrs which implies that the air-conditioning does not run through the night.

✔️Lions are the only cats that live in groups. A group of lions is called a pride. A pride can consist of up to 30 lions, depending on how much food and water is available. The core of a pride typically consists of related lionesses, their offspring, and a brotherhood or coalition of males.

✔️Male African lions can weigh between 150kg and 250kg, at their heaviest. Female African lions weigh slightly less, up to 180kg. Female lions tend to live longer than male lions. Their average lifespan in the wild is around 10-14 years.

✔️Lionesses are the primary hunters in the pride. Their collaborative teamwork and strategic approach to the hunt is essential for the survival of the pride.

✔️Lions primarily hunt at night, when their night vision gives them an advantage over their prey. Each lioness will have a strategic position in the hunt with the more experienced and stronger females among the group will occupy a middle position, eventually tasked with taking down the prey. The other lionesses will take to the flanks, blocking the preys escape and funnelling it towards the more experienced hunters at the centre.
