Tantalika Houseboat -Kariba is a great family boat that is 60-foot long
MAX NUMBER OF PASSENGERS: 16 (comfortably and ideally 10)

*4 cabins (2 cabins with double beds and 2 cabins with two single beds) all spacious cabins with glass sliding doors facing the lake
*There are 4 permanent mattresses on the top deck (used as benches during the day) converted to beds with mosquito nets for those wanting to sleep on the top deck, extra mattresses can be provided if more guests would like to sleep in the open.
The lower deck has a fully functioning kitchen with ample freezer and cold room space.
The crew have their own cabin and ablutions.

* Two pontoon tender boats with small engines (Yamaha 15hp and 15hp) one is a 6 pax and the second an 8 pax, both with shade cloth rooves. Please note that there is no speedboat tender

* Fuel for main vessel, tender boats, and generator : Approximate fuel
usage per day is 100 liters diesel for the main boat and 25 liters petrol
for the tender boats and generators (fuel usage for boats are very dependant on wheather conditions and routes taken)

ELECTRICAL POWER:
New16kva diesel generator, which supplies 220V power when generator is on. Clients will need to bring chargers if necessary.
Please note: The generator will be switched off at 10pm, which is Government Stipulated Lake Rules.
Tantalika also has a solar system that will run all fridges and deepfreezers through the day as well as allow for guests to charge cellphones etc during the day. Air-conditioning can run from the solar system as well during the day. However, once the sun has gone down, air-conditioning will only run from the generator.
Please note: Should you exceed the number of passengers
the boat will not leave harbour - this is for safety reasons.In the event of this happening, no refund will be given.
Please note: Boarding time is strictly 12 pm and disembarking 10am unless cleared
beforehand with the boat manager.
Boats do not have night navigational equipment, so they are not permitted to sail in the dark. The latest set off time is strictly 2 pm in winter and 2.30 in summer.
If you do not make it in time, sleeping in harbour is not permitted, so you would have to find alternate accommodation at your own
expense and set off the next morning.
Please note: VERY IMPORTANT Kariba is a Malaria Area - please see your
pharmacist or doctor to get the necessary anti-malarial tablets or sprays.

From Harare, take the Harare Chirundu road through the towns of Banket, Chinhoyi and Karoi till you reach Makuti (Approximately 290 kms), where you will turn left and proceed down the escarpment, and travel for 75 kilometers till you reach the town of Kariba.
Marineland Harbour is situated just off the main road, turn off at the Total Garage (on your left) and turn immediately right past the Ice Cream Parlour and Take Away, and a 2 minute drive down the hill towards Zimsun’s Carribea Bay Casino Resort & Hotel and you will find Marineland’s Harbour on the left.
The drive will take about 5 hours in total
