The Original Drive-Thru 🍟

We’ve been quiet for a few weeks while recharging behind the scenes, but the rhythm of the wild never skips a beat. We are thrilled to be back and sharing the beauty of the valley with you again.

Meet the witty one stopping for a quick bite. These impalas are often called the local "McDonald's" of Kariba—did you know that distinct black "M" on their back is exactly why they get the nickname? They are looking anything but "fast-food" in this stunning light!

Safari Insider: If you are planning a visit, the Dry Season (June – October) is the absolute "peak" for spotting. As inland water pans dry up, thousands of impalas are drawn to the Lake Kariba shoreline for water and the lush green grass that remains there.

The shaggy king of the Zambezi. 🌊✨ There is something so majestic about seeing a Waterbuck bull in the golden hour light of Lake Kariba. These "aquatic antelopes" are famous for their unique white ring and their ability to outswim predators in deep water. 🐊🐾
