There's a version of Victoria Falls you don't see from the water 🚁

From a helicopter, the gorge opens out in full below you, the spray rising in columns you can trace from source to drift.

In partnership with The Zambezi Helicopter Company Pure Africa guests often pair a Zambezi cruise with the view from above: a figure of eight directly over the Falls, then upstream across Zambezi National Park, watching for game from the air.

The Econet Zimbabwe Econet Victoria Falls Marathon took place earlier this month, bringing runners from around 40 nationalities to Victoria Falls.

Beginning on the iconic bridge, in the spray of the Falls, the route passed through a UNESCO World Heritage Site before finishing back in town.

We welcomed 150 guests aboard the Zambezi Explorer over the weekend, with several continuing the celebrations at The Eatery after their cruise.

Pure Africa has proudly served as the marathon’s official cruise operator for several years. The event has come a long way since 2006, when around 300 runners took part.

This year, some of our team joined the race, while others welcomed runners at the finish-line gazebo with well-earned refreshments.

A fantastic day all round - congratulations to everyone who took part! 🏅

The Pure Africa Agents' Party

Every day, our local travel agents answer the questions, explain the cruises and help guests choose the right experience on the Zambezi.

Last month, we turned the Pure Africa Waterfront into a thank-you.

The theme: masquerade. Everybody received a blank mask and decorated it themselves, so no two were the same by the end of the night.

We also brought in a digital dance floor, with changing lights beneath their feet. We think it's the first one Victoria Falls has seen.

It was one evening to step away from the guest-facing work and simply enjoy the waterfront they help fill.

Three days on the Zambezi, with the boardroom swapped for a private sunset cruise.

Day one opens with a welcome reception on the water.

By day two, the group has moved to the Pure Africa Waterfront, a hectare of riverside lawn with space for breakout sessions, canoeing and a bush dinner under the stars.

Day three winds down with sunrise yoga on the river and a slow breakfast before the debrief.

A private lunch on the banks of the Zambezi River begins with drinks at the water's edge, the Zambezi moving slowly past.

When you sit down, the menu does what it always does... tells you where you are: Zimbabwean beef, locally grown vegetables and fish pulled from the Zambezi itself.

And then, just when you least expect it, a warthog trots into the scene, completely unbothered by your presence.
