The bar at partner lodge Quemquemtreu - christened the ‘Angler’s Rest’ - is an idyllic place to refresh after a great day’s fishing on the Collón Curá river. Feliz año nuevo from Patagonia! 🎊🥂

Thank you to everyone from both of us, and our whole team here at Fish Patagonia, for making 2025 such a success. Here’s to another happy and healthy year to come, with plenty more adventures both on and off the water!

2026 is off to a flying start so far. We were lucky enough to spend New Year’s Eve with guests (who are more like family) and our wonderful friends and hosts at Mamuil Malal in the shadow of Lanín volcano.

As if that wasn’t enough, the fishing has already produced some fantastic memories both on Tromen Lake and the Malleo River.

We are so looking forward to sharing more of our precious home with plenty more of you to come. Vamos, 2026!

A very Merry Christmas from all the team at Fish Patagonia🎄🎅🏼

We celebrated with the perfect finale to a fantastic week fishing with great friends. With the grand slam of lake fishing in the net - rainbow, brown, and brook - we can’t think of a better way to have spent our day.

The dance of the pejerrey.

We were lucky enough to spot these two beautiful pejerrey - a native species to Patagonia - feeding and swimming together under the willows on the banks of the Collón Curá just last week.

Photographer Thomas was there to capture the moment, showing off their stunning blue fins and silvery scales. Watching them stick close to each others sides as they swam in the current was captivating.

With their tiny mouths, fishing for pejerrey requires a smaller fly than we tend to use for trout.

It’s been a wonderful and busy start to the season this spring here in Patagonia. Here are a few moments we managed to catch on camera!

We’ve welcomed some guests for their first time fishing in Patagonia, and others who’ve been returning here for years. The dry fly fishing has been exceptional, with plenty of strong, healthy trout providing non-stop action out on the rivers.

Off the water, Holly has been busy guiding riding guests around Tipiliuke on horseback, while the native wildlife has been out in force enjoying the springtime sunshine.

Here in Patagonia we’ve already had a lot to be thankful for in the first few weeks of this season. A moment of appreciation for the mighty Collón Curá river. With its memorable white cliffs and immensity, it’s easy to forget this river also offers excellent wading in its many back channels as well as top class floating.

The season is barely two weeks old, and we’ve already had some extraordinary days out fishing with fantastic results on the dries. We’re looking forward to many more days out on this wonderful river in the months to come.
