🎬 Vale David Stratton 🎬

We are saddened to hear of the passing of legendary Australian film critic David Stratton, aged 85.

David was best known to movie lovers for his decades of insightful film reviews alongside Margaret Pomeranz, but he also shared his passion with many of our travellers, leading numerous Film Festivals at Sea with Travelrite over the years.

His family announced that David passed away peacefully in hospital near his home in the Blue Mountains.
"David’s passion for film, commitment to Australian cinema, and generous spirit touched countless lives," they said in a statement.

A true champion of cinema and a warm, generous soul — he will be greatly missed. 🎥💔

Our travel consultant Alana is back from her river cruise holiday aboard the Travelmarvel Vega, sailing from Budapest to Nuremberg! 🇭🇺🛳️🇩🇪

She loved the ship — clean, modern and very elegant throughout. Alana stayed in a French Balcony cabin and said it was a great design, with a window that slides halfway open to create that "balcony" feel.

The Window cabins are a great choice if you're happy with a simpler room and want to focus on the river cruise experience.

If you're looking for more space, the Owner’s Suites are the pick of the bunch, with a sitting area, couch, and large bathroom with double sinks. There are only four on board, and they’re beautiful.

Alana had a fantastic time and would be happy to chat about her experience if you're thinking about a river cruise in 2026! 🌍🛳️
