You’ve heard of the gardens at Versailles. You’ve probably wandered through the Luxembourg Gardens. But have you heard of the Albert Kahn Museum & Gardens?

Just 30 minutes by Métro from central Paris, the gardens take you through landscapes inspired by different parts of the world, including a beautiful Japanese garden and village, French and English gardens and peaceful woodland.

And don’t skip the museum. Albert Kahn sent photographers around the world in the early 1900s to capture everyday life in colour, creating an extraordinary collection of images from a world that looked very different to today.

💡SJT’S TIP: Allow a morning or afternoon to explore. It’s a lovely escape from the big Paris sights, still flies surprisingly under the radar and, having tested it ourselves, is officially teen-approved too! 🙌

Some more exciting team expansion news from SJT…

This week SJT strengthened three key areas of the business with new appointments across Finance, IT and Facilities. Admittedly, all three appointments are a bloke called Garth...

📊 Finance Garth
Charts. Graphs. Big-screen financial analysis. The Director’s response to the presentation can best be described as "restful".

💻 IT Garth
Multiple monitors, code, headphones, glasses and a concerning quantity of caffeine. We’re not entirely sure what he’s doing, but nobody was game to interrupt him.

🔧 Facilities Garth
Power drill in hand, pencil behind the ear and something actually being attached to the wall. He appears to be relatively good at this role!

One of the realities of small business is that behind the scenes, there’s often someone who jumps in, fixes things, crunches numbers, solves problems and generally lends a hand wherever it’s needed.

Sometimes, they also agree to ridiculous photos for social media.

Thanks, Garth. Your official job title remains under review.

A new face in the SJT office this month! 👋

We’re very happy to welcome Katie, who is spending some time with us gaining work experience and getting a behind-the-scenes look at life in a travel agency.

Katie has been interested in working in travel for as long as she can remember. She’s currently in her second year of a double degree in Business Management and Tourism, and already has some great industry experience under her belt. Plus, having travelled to almost 20 countries already, it’s fair to say she most definitely has the travel bug!

Katie saw our Travel Gap students spending time with us earlier this year and, hot on their heels, reached out to see if she could join us for some work experience of her own.

We love seeing young people genuinely excited about a future in travel and tourism, and we’re very pleased to have Katie joining us this month.
