πŸŒ‘οΈπŸ’§ TEMPERATURES ARE CLIMBING β€” PLEASE PUT WATER OUT FOR OUR NATIVE WILDLIFE! 🐦🦎

With temperatures starting to climb significantly across Queensland and South East Queensland this week, something as simple as a bowl of clean water can make a real difference for native birds, reptiles, frogs, insects and other wildlife during hot, dry conditions. πŸ’§πŸŒΏ

CREATE A SAFE WILDLIFE WATER STATION

πŸ’§ Use a shallow, stable bowl that smaller animals can access safely. 🐦

πŸͺ¨ Add rocks, pebbles or sturdy sticks so insects, small reptiles and other animals have an escape route if they fall in. πŸ¦‹

🌳 Place water in the shade and near shrubs or protective vegetation, giving wildlife somewhere to retreat from heat and predators. 🌿

🦎 Consider water at different heights β€” ground-level dishes can help reptiles and frogs, while elevated water can provide safer access for birds where cats or dogs are present. 🐸

🧼 Fresh water matters. Replace it daily and regularly scrub and rinse containers to reduce contamination, mosquito breeding and the potential spread of disease. πŸ’¦

🌿 BIOSCAPING 4 BIODIVERSITY -
Providing water is one of the simplest ways we can support native fauna around our homes, gardens and properties. Better still, combine reliable water with native plants that provide food, shelter, nesting habitat and protection. 🐝🐦

As the weather warms, please put a bowl of water out today, keep it clean and encourage your neighbours to do the same. Small actions across many gardens can help wildlife through the hotter months ahead. πŸ’šπŸŒ

Do you already provide water for wildlife at your place β€” and who comes to visit? 🐦🦎🐝

πŸŒΌπŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί HAPPY NATIONAL WATTLE DAY β€” DON’T BLAME THE WATTLES FOR YOUR HAY FEVER!

Today, 1 September, we celebrate Australia’s iconic wattles. With more than 1,000 Acacia species, they’re vital for soil health, wildlife and biodiversity. 🌼🌿

🌱 Wattles partner with nitrogen-fixing bacteria, helping them thrive in nutrient-poor soils and supporting ecosystem recovery.

🐝 Their flowers, foliage, seeds, bark and timber provide food and habitat for native bees, butterflies, insects, birds and other wildlife.

🌿 As pioneer plants, wattles help improve soil, provide shelter and support ecological restorationβ€”including Bioscaping 4 Biodiversity.

🀧 Despite their Winter to Spring flowering, wattles are generally not a major hay fever trigger. Their large, heavy pollen is mainly insect-pollinated; wind-pollinated exotic grasses are more commonly responsible for allergies. 🌾

This National Wattle Day, look around Australia, Queensland and South East Queensland and appreciate these golden biodiversity champions. 🌱

🌿🌱 100 NATIVE PLANTS β€” BIOSCAPING 4 BIODIVERSITY IN ACTION! 🐦🐝

We had a big day yesterday installing the first stage of a Bushfood & Biodiversity Consultation for our clients Anna and Laurie β€” planting 100 local Lockyer Valley and South East Queensland native plants throughout their property. 🌱🌏

PLANTS WITH PURPOSE
All were wild-type native species β€” no cultivars, hybrids or grafted varieties β€” selected according to our Bioscaping 4 Biodiversity principles. Together they'll provide food and habitat for birds, native bees, butterflies, koalas and other wildlife, while many also offer bushfood, traditional bush-medicine, utility, erosion-control, climate resilience and low-flammability landscaping values. πŸŒΏπŸ¦‹

We also planned for year-round native flowering resources to support Anna and Laurie's native bees throughout the seasons. 🐝🌸

A big thank you to Nick from Mohr Yardcare for getting all 100 plants into the ground and giving them the best possible start. The weather couldn't have been better, the local birds were very inquisitive about what we were planting, and last night's full moon was a beautiful finish to the day! πŸŒ•πŸ¦

We can't wait to watch this property develop as the plants establish and biodiversity builds. 🌱🌿

Want to Bioscape your own property? Enquire about our Bushfood & Biodiversity Consultations through our website. 🏑🌱

🌿πŸͺ΄ MORE THAN A NATIVE PLANT β€” KNOW WHAT YOU’RE PLANTING & WHY! πŸ¦πŸπŸ¦‹

When you buy native plants from Flora 4 Fauna, you’re getting more than just a plant. We help you understand what it is, where it should be planted, how to care for it and what it can do for our native flora, fauna, the environment β€” and for you! 🌱🌏

🌱 TRUE TO TYPE β€” Our plants represent the species as they occur naturally in the wild. We don’t sell hybrids, grafted plants or genetically engineered varieties. Our focus is on genuine Australian native species and retaining the characteristics and ecological assets that make them valuable. πŸ‡¦πŸ‡ΊπŸŒΏ

🏷️ KNOW YOUR PLANT β€” Every plant comes with a species tag explaining what it is and its key assets. Depending on the species, that might include bushfood, bush medicine, pollinator resources, wildlife habitat, practical uses or broader biodiversity benefits. 🌿🐝🐦

πŸ“„ KNOW HOW TO GROW IT β€” You’ll also receive a Flora 4 Fauna Caresheet with practical guidance on planting, establishment and ongoing care, helping give your natives the best possible start. πŸͺ΄πŸ’§

🀝 ONGOING SUPPORT β€” Our support doesn’t end when you take your plants home. If you have questions along the way, we’re here to help you get the most from your plants and your native plant experience. πŸ’šπŸŒ±

🌏 For us, it’s not simply about selling native plants. It’s about helping people understand what they’re planting, why it matters and how each species can become part of a healthier landscape for people, wildlife and biodiversity. πŸ¦πŸπŸ¦‹πŸŒΏ
