Phil recently experienced a stay at Kaura Bali, a peaceful retreat in the hills of East Bali.

We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of renowned aviation journalist and industry commentator, Geoffrey Thomas.

A local to Perth, Geoffrey was a great friend of the Bicton & Claremont Travel family, and someone whose passion for aviation was truly unmatched.

Widely respected for his wealth of knowledge and decades of contribution to the aviation industry, he became one of Australia's most trusted voices on all things aviation, generously sharing his expertise through his writing, commentary and media appearances.

Over the years, Geoffrey joined us for ship inspections, client events and countless conversations over coffee, always with a fascinating aviation story to tell. Whether discussing the latest aircraft developments, the future of travel, or his love of cruising, he had a remarkable ability to make complex subjects accessible and engaging.

His generosity with his time and knowledge greatly appreciated.

We always looked forward to reading his columns in The West and Business News and hearing his perspective on an industry he loved so deeply.

Geoffrey leaves behind a legacy within Australian aviation and will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. We send our condolences to his family.

This year, our Director Phil is taking part in the Vinnies Australia CEO Sleepout to help raise awareness and funds for Australians experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity.

Through a career in travel, Phil has been fortunate to experience incredible places around the world - something many of us can easily take for granted. By taking part in the CEO Sleepout, he’s stepping outside his comfort zone for one night to support a cause that impacts far too many Australians every day.
