Have you met Eumundi's icon Betsy yet? 🎹

Sitting proudly outside the Imperial Hotel Eumundi, this colourful piano perfectly captures the creative spirit of our town.

She’s part artwork, part instrument and always ready for anyone passing by to sit down and play a tune. 🎶

As part of this year’s Eumundi Writers Festival, former Prime Minister Kevin Rudd is returning to his hometown for a very special conversation at The Imperial Hotel Eumundi.

Before becoming Australia’s 26th Prime Minister, Ambassador to the United States and a prominent voice on global affairs, Kevin Rudd was a local Eumundi kid.

This time, he’ll be sitting down with Clancy Overell, Editor of The Betoota Advocate for what promises to be a candid, entertaining and thought-provoking conversation spanning local beginnings, Australian politics and the global stage.

It’s not every day you get to hear a former Prime Minister reflect on his journey in the very town where his story began.

Have you noticed these trees in Eumundi before? 🌳

They hold a secret that many people may never realise…

These towering memorial trees were planted in 1917 to honour local men who never returned home from the First World War.

Each tree represents a life lost and stands as a living reminder of Eumundi’s history and the impact the war had on this small community.

So next time you’re wandering through Eumundi, take a moment to look up.... There’s history growing all around us. 🌱

Thank you to for these images and bringing this memorial to our attention

Did you know that the funds from the parking fees go to support local non-profit organisations?

The rain stopped and we filled the famous Eumundi Markets carpark very quickly today as we managed the hilly drier carpark. Always fun meeting the excited visitors and locals and having a bit of walky talky chat with the traffic management crew. Want to join the crew on this new gig? just msg
