Happy Flightie Friday! Today, one of our marketing team members, Brigette, is sharing the details of her experience travelling around Europe during her time studying in Vienna.

🇪🇺 What were the highlights of your trip?

The highlights of my trip were paragliding in Interlaken, Switzerland, mountain carting in the Alps, and Nordic saunagus, a wellness ritual performed in a sauna. While in Europe I also visited Zermatt, Vienna, Lisbon and Norway (Preikestolen).

🇪🇺 If you were to go back what else would you do?

I would definitely go skiing and take the time to visit some of the smaller towns.

🇪🇺 Any tips for first time travellers?

Take in the sights of Europe by train – it’s an affordable and sustainable option and they are super punctual 99% of the time.

Italy’s fashion capital, Milan, is considering a rather unique approach, with a plan to ban purchases of pizza and gelato after midnight! The aim of the proposal is to reduce the number of nighttime revellers and noisy partygoers in the area.

Happy Flightie Friday! Today, our travel consultant, Ana, is sharing the details of her week-long family beach vacation in Cuba.

🇨🇺 What were the highlights of your trip?
We stayed in Sol Caribe Beach, located on the main beach in Varadero. It was my first time there. Honestly, the beach was one of the best ones I've even seen! In my opinion, it’s better than Grace Bay, which is a famous beach in Turks and Caicos, and waaayyy better than Bávaro Beach in the Dominican Republic, which is voted in the top 10 beaches in the world every year.

🇨🇺 If you were to go back to Cuba, what else would you do?
I would go on a day trip to Havana.

🇨🇺 Any tips for first-time travellers to this destination?
Stay at Sol Varadero Beach resort. The resort was modern with great staff and food, giving an elevated Cuban experience. It wasn’t extravagant, but very good for the price that you pay. If travelling with babies or toddlers, check that the place you are staying in has highchairs and cribs — these may be limited and available on a first come, first served basis only.

Happy Flightie Friday! Today, we’re excited to share details of an amazing nine-night Bali getaway from our travel consultant, Kailea. It was a trip that provided plenty of time to both explore and relax by the pool — all while celebrating a few birthdays with fellow Flighties.

🇮🇩 What were the highlights of your trip?
This was my second time to Bali and I knew we needed to go to Ubud again. Ubud is such a tranquil area where you can relax, go to one of the many spas for a Balinese massage or practice yoga. As a birthday gift, my friends had organized a photoshoot that we did amongst the Tegalalang Rice Terrace and our villa. We got some amazing photos to remember the trip by.

We stayed a few nights in the village of Songan in Kintamani. It’s a tiny farming village, but we used it as a base to do the sunrise hike of Mount Batur. I personally am not a hiker and may have complained almost the entire way up. But once we got up there, it was a gorgeous sunrise view over the lake!

🇮🇩 If you were to go back to Bali, what else would you do?
When I go back to Bali, I will go for a bit longer so that I can spend more time in each area. I could easily spend a week in Ubud and I would look at going to one of the neighboring islands as well.

🇮🇩 Any tips for first-time travellers to this destination?
I highly suggest getting a SIM card for your phone once you land. Most contacts within Bali will use WhatsApp, so it’s nice to always have access to data. Bali is quite affordable and I suggest taking advantage of booking a private day tour. You can book something specific, or you can hire a driver for the day and they will ask you where you want to go. Lastly, book a cooking class! We did one with a local chef at our villa in Amed, and the food was amazing. Make sure to try all the new foods that you don't get at home!

Melbourne Airport has been ranked as Australia’s best airport for the second year in a row at the 2024 Skytrax World Airport Awards. The airport also ranked highly on a global scale, coming in 19th on the prestigious list of the world’s top 100 airports.

🤔 The Unique Ingredient In Sustainable Aviation Fuel!
Hungarian Airline, Wizz Air, has struck a deal with a biofuel company to provide up to 525,000 tonnes of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) over 15 years. The SAF is made using a very unique blend of kerosene and human poo sourced from the people of Essex.

Last week, millions of people stopped to gaze up at the skies for a total solar eclipse! However, those who weren’t in its path might be left with some FOMO after missing the rare phenomenon. The next total solar eclipse is predicted to occur on 12 August 2026 and is set to appear over Greenland, Iceland, Spain and a small portion of Portugal.
