Haunted Holidays - NZ
We are currently on our HHNZ trip of the North Island
Started off with an old, beautifully restored Convent in Auckland. It was the St Joseph's Convent, then became a home for the destitute and mental ill, before being bought and turned into a magnificent boutique hotel.
Day 2, we headed to The Lady Bowen bed and breakfast, via Mercer Cemetery and morgue, then Rangariri Pa battlefield. That night we investigated the Lady B with Barbara, the owner, and met some of the residents.
Day 3, we were on the bus with Maurie (best bus driver ever from Pavlovich Coaches), and we headed to Coromandel. First stop was Driving Creek Railway, through the forest, to sense the presence of the local creatures of Maori folklore, then into the town of Coromandel for lunch. In the afternoon, we popped into the Mining Museum, and explored the relics (and an old gaol). Natasha Kristoffersen-Tuck had surprised the group in the morning with a visit(we kept that secret well) , and joined us for the day, explaining the local legend and lore. Thank you Tash ###
We finished the night with an old fashioned spirit communication session, and stumbled across a spirit who wanted to make contact. He indicated he could not spell, but one of our group psychically picked up an usual name "F**k".
We all had a laugh, but the board indicated it was correct. Renata did some research and low and behold, there was a F**k associated with the immediate area! Wow.
The night was spent in very comfy beds, with one guest receiving an unexpected request to enter her room at 3.30am. Knocking! Yeah nah, you can't come in! Lol
Today is Day 4, we have farewelled Barbara and Stu, after a delicious breakfast, and are now on the road to Hobbiton! And tonight, we stay at the notoriously Haunted Princes Gate hotel in Rotorua.
Can't wait till the group gets their first wiff of the sulphur 😉
