✈️ Heading to Europe in 2025?
From 12 October 2025, Australians will need to register under the EU’s new Entry/Exit System (EES) when entering or leaving the Schengen Area. Passport stamps will be replaced with a digital process that records your entry and exit through biometric data such as fingerprints and facial images.

What to expect:
✅ First visit: fingerprints, photo & a few questions at the border
✅ Future visits (within 3 years): just fingerprints / photo
✅ Free & only takes minutes (but queues may be longer at first)

Remember the 90/180 Day Rule:
You can spend up to 90 days in any 180 days across all Schengen countries without a visa. Overstaying can lead to fines or bans.
💡 Tip: Use the EU short-stay calculator to track your days.

Visa-free travel covers tourism, visiting family, short business trips, events, medical treatment, and transit, but longer stays or other purposes may require a visa. Some countries also have separate visa waiver agreements with Australia, so always check the rules before you go.

Lindsay and Lillian from our Barossa office have proven they can go the distance after taking out honours in at the recent Phil Hoffmann Travel Gala Dinner. 🥂

Lindsay will soon get the opportunity to see the world for herself, with a trip to Alaska as her prize for being named Top Achiever. 🇺🇸🛳️

Lillian also will be jetting off to Club Med Phuket as her prize for being named one of the rising stars. ✈️ 🇹🇭

- Vietnam, because it’s culturally rewarding, but not too challenging – the tourism infrastructure works very well.

- Italy and Mediterranean cruise

What is your favourite part of working in the travel industry?
- Getting people away on the dream holidays

What is a fun fact about you?
- Dad to two beautiful girls.

What is your most memorable travel experience?
- Lightning struck aircraft engine mid-flight, which caught fire and had to be shutdown… complete NYC to Osaka flight with one engine down.

What is your top travel tip?
- Travel with an open mind. Things won’t be the same as home, and that’s the best thing about it.
