Bhutanโs White-bellied population has been thriving; now home to half the worldโs population. A recent sighting of a White-bellied Heron in is giving conservationists another reason to celebrate. The critically endangered bird was spotted along the Amochhu at Sangbeykha in Haa. The Royal Society for the Protection of Nature (RSPN) says the latest sighting is significant as it is the first-ever recorded sighting in the Amochhu basin. Till now, the species has only been spotted in the four major river basins in the country.
To learn more about the latest sighting and conservation efforts, our reporter, Devika Pradhan, spoke with Tshering Tobgay, Research Officer at the Royal Society for the Protection of Nature (RSPN). https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1D4iSnFW5k/?mibextid=wwXIfr
