Thruebab is an auspicious day in Bhutan, traditionally observed with the belief that natural water sources are blessed and have a cleansing quality. Many Bhutanese mark the day by taking a bath in natural water, a tradition associated with cleansing and seeking blessings for good health and well-being.

It is also a time for families to come together, share a meal, and enjoy a feast with loved ones. A simple celebration of tradition, togetherness, and the blessings of nature.

Condolences to our many Buddhist friends in Bhutan and elsewhere around the world on the passing of His Eminence Ngawang Tenzin.

He was one of Bhutan’s most revered spiritual masters and former Dorji Lopen of the Zhung Dratshang, Bhutan’s Central Monastic Body, and a recognized tulku in the Drukpa Kagyu lineage.

He peacefully entered Parinirvana on 6 September. He was 87 years old.
