Niki got in touch with us a few months ago looking for a premium, high-quality private Barra charterβ¦ and she found exactly what she was looking for. π―
Her goal? Catch a Barra.
After she gave us a date range, we hand-picked the best tides, then finalised a detailed plan the night before the charter after analysing the latest weather and conditions to give her the best opportunity possible.
The plan?
Go all-in chasing a trophy Barra for the first half of the day, then finish the afternoon sight-casting school-sized fish through the snags and mangrove mud flats for a fresh feed.
The morning arrived and, after around an hour of one-on-one coaching, Niki was casting and retrieving confidently with a full understanding of exactly what we were trying to achieve.
What happened next was what sheβd been dreaming aboutβ¦
FIRST BARRAβ¦ 95CM!! π₯
A genuine trophy fish and an incredible personal best.
Less than half an hour later, Niki did the unthinkable and upgraded her PB with an absolute 96cm horse.
A ridiculously healthy fish and one weβll both remember for a long time.
With two trophy Barra already in the boat, we decided the job on big fish was done.
Time to switch gears ~
We moved into the snags and mangrove mud flats, sight-casting school size Barra.
The action stayed hot, with another 6 Barra hitting the deck in the 50-60cm range, while a few more managed to win their freedom before making it to the net.
A day that started with one simple goal.
-Catch a Barra- finished with two trophy fish, six more landed, plenty of action, and a fresh feed of fillets to take home.
Days like these donβt happen by accident. Theyβre the result of careful planning, local knowledge, adapting to the conditions, and putting clients in the highest-percentage situations all day long.
Thanks for trusting me with your trip Niki. It was an absolute pleasure, and congratulations again on fish and an unforgettable day on the water! ππ£
