A new study suggests that restoring nature does not have to come at the expense of food production, forestry or energy security.

Using integrated spatial planning, the EU could improve conservation status for up to 42% of threatened species while still allowing farming and forestry areas to grow. 🦋

📸🎒 Citizen Science in Action: Youth and the Future of Our Heritage! ✨

On June 12, 2026, the "Herit Adapt" project team visited the wonderful and creative students from the Professional High School of Tourism in Samokov for an amazing event dedicated to citizen science! 🏫💡

Together with the future professionals in the tourism industry, we brought Koprivshtitsa right into the classroom:

· 🏰 A Digital Journey: Thanks to the innovative 3D model of the exterior and the detailed 360-degree virtual tour, the students were able to explore and analyze the condition of the majestic Mausoleum-Ossuary honoring the Apriltsi insurgents from both inside and out.

· 🌳 Sustainable Ideas: The high school students actively participated in a discussion, sharing highly interesting suggestions and fresh ideas for the tourism sustainability of the monument and the destination of Koprivshtitsa in the context of climate change.

It is truly inspiring to see the younger generation using technology to preserve our history and think about a green and sustainable future for tourism! 🌍❤️

📸✨ New steps towards preserving our history in the museum-town of Koprivshtitsa! 🏛️🇧🇬 On May 11, 2026, a communication event was held under the "Herit Adapt" project, bringing together members of the territorial working group and key stakeholders. 🤝💼

Here are the main highlights from the meeting:

· 🎥 History comes to life on screen: We presented three brand new information videos dedicated to the majestic Mausoleum-Ossuary honoring the Apriltsi insurgents, as well as other iconic sites of the rich historical heritage of Koprivshtitsa. 🎬🌟

· 🌡️ Technology in service of heritage: The humidity and temperature sensors installed inside the monument were shown to the general public. 📊🔍 They will allow a detailed study of the indoor microclimate, which is a crucial step for planning the future renovation and long-term preservation of the Ossuary. 🛠️🏛️

Thank you to everyone who joined us and supported the cause for the adaptation and preservation of our cultural heritage! 👏❤️ Koprivshtitsa remains the living heart of Bulgarian history! 🇧🇬✨
