A arara-azul-grande (Anodorhynchus hyacinthinus) é a maior espécie de arara do mundo e um dos ícones mais fascinantes do Pantanal.
Sua coloração azul intensa não é resultado de pigmentos, mas de um efeito estrutural das p***s: a base é preta e a microestrutura das p***s interage com a luz, refletindo predominantemente os comprimentos de onda azuis.
O resultado é essa tonalidade vibrante e única — um verdadeiro fenômeno da natureza, que a gente sempre encontra no Pantanal!
The hyacinth macaw (Anodorhynchus hyacinthinus) is the largest macaw species in the world and one of the most iconic birds of the Pantanal.
Its intense blue coloration does not come from pigments, but from a structural effect of the feathers: the feather base is black, and the microstructure of the feathers interacts with light, reflecting mainly blue wavelengths.
The result is this vibrant and unique color — a true phenomenon of nature that we can see at Pantanal!

Momento exato em que Marcela, depois de 4/5 horas, tentar pegar a mãe capivara e conseguir pegar somente o filhote, vê o segundo filhote, seu próximo alvo!
The exact moment when Marcela, after 4/5 hours, aimed at the mother capybara and managed to catch only the cub, sees the second cub, her next target!

A difícil tarefa de se ter uma família grande!
Esse grupo de Ariranhas ( Pteronura brasilienses) tem filhotes jovens do ano anterior e esses filhotes novinhos, desse ano. Aparentemente eles estão trocando de toca, o que é usual pra as Ariranhas.
É um dos maiores grupos da região do Porto Jofre, Pantanal -MT.
Além de transportar esses filhotinhos que não nadam sozinhos ainda, tinham vários integrantes pescando e os filhotes jovem “pedindo” comida também - as ariranhas não compartilham o peixe.
Tudo acontecendo ao mesmo tempo nesse dia esfumaçado no Pantanal! Privilégio ver essa cena!
The difficult task of having a large family!
This group of giant otters has young cubs from the previous year and these new cubs from this year. Apparently they are changing dens, which is normal for giant otters.
It is one of the largest groups in the Porto Jofre region, Pantanal -MT.
In addition to transporting these cubs that cannot swim on their own yet, there were several members fishing and the young cubs “begging” for food too - giant otters do not share fish.
Everything happening at the same time on this smoky day in the Pantanal! It was a privilege to see this scene!

A paciência recompensa….Ficamos esperando quase 2 horas para os pais voltarem e trazerem os filhotes para suas lições diárias na água! .É um privilégio poder acompanhar e aprender sobre o comportamento dos animais no Pantanal! .Postando esse vídeo que é um pouco longo mas que mostra o cuidado parental das Ariranhas. ..Patience pays off….We waited almost 2 hours for the parents to return and bring the cubs to the daily lessons in the water!.It is a privilege to be able to observe and learn about the behavior of animals in the Pantanal!.Posting this video that is a bit long but shows the parental care of the Giant Otters..
