Lions are the only cats that live in family groups, called prides, which can have up to 40 members.

A lion’s roar can be heard up to 8 km (5 miles) away.

Females do most of the hunting, while males defend the pride’s territory.

They can sleep for up to 20 hours a day — the ultimate “kings” of relaxation.
