The Leopards of Mashatu are truly extraordinary. Definitely one the the top places to see and photograph these wonderful cats. This is a youngster up a Mashatu tree. What a great sighting.

When the light is right! Many people ask when is the best time to travel to Botswana? My answer is always March, April and May. Love the light at this time of year and it is not too hot in the day with cool evenings. Perfect. Later in the year, the light washes out quickly. Here we are in Nxai Pan National Park in February last year. This old boy was loving cooling off in a mud pool.

This is no ordinary Lion. He is a fighter, a survivor, and an extremely important player in the gene pool of the Kalahari Black - maned Lions. His scars speak of fending off nomadic males and holding territory. Here in the Kalahari, that territory could be larger than 1500 km2 and the Central Kalahari Game Reserve is his domain.

Just back from an epic 21 day safari in Botswana. Many fabulous sightings as we travelled to Mashatu, Khama Rhino Sanctuary, Nxai Pan, Khwai River, Savute and Chobe River. The tremendous amount of rain this year has kept the bush lush and green!

Meerkat Mania. A safari into the Kalahari is not complete without spending time with these remarkable animals. This small group had 5 pups who set off each morning and evening under the watchful eye of Mum! ❤️❤️❤️

Journey to the Kalahari. The very name ‘Kalahari’ conjures up the spirit of adventure. In one week’s time, we will be heading out on an epic journey of discovery that will take in the Central Kalahari Game Reserve, the Boteti River, Nxai Pan and ending at Camp Kalahari. Our guests requested to go off the beaten track in search of silence and solitude. And the Kalahari offers just that. For us, March is a superb month for an expedition of this nature. The green flush coupled with dramatic skies will hopefully all fall into place. This image of a lone bull Elephant was taken in Nxai Pan.

Always wonderful to see these birds out on safari especially when they have chicks. Here, the male is on parental duty, guiding and protecting the next generation. This was Savute in October and we were moving our tented camp to Chobe River on that day. Lucky us!

A most magnificent beast. Savute, in the heart of the Chobe National Park, is home to an incredible Lion population. This individual is one of the dominant males of the north or Hill pride. Savute is always high on our must see destinations for photographers. Our moving, under canvas camp, puts you right in the middle of the action!
