Positive momentum for Atlantic Canada’s redfish industry! The Government of Canada has announced the second year of the commercial redfish fishery in Atlantic Canada – great news after nearly 30 years under moratorium.

A total allowable catch of 60,000 Tonnes has been set for Unit 1 (Gulf of St. Lawrence), complementing ongoing harvest activity in Unit 2 (Laurentian Channel) and Unit 3 (Scotia Shelf).

This expansion supports an increased supply of high-quality redfish opening new opportunities to meet the evolving market demand.
