Yellow vs. Gold
I recently read an article about the Yellowstone Club. This members-only ski community outside Big Sky, Montana, offers approximately 2,700 acres of private ski terrain. Membership requires property ownership, and the club famously trademarked the phrase "Private Powder®." For more than two decades, they've been selling something that's increasingly rare: exclusive access to fresh snow.
So does Gold Rush Heli Skiing. The difference is how we define "exclusivity".
Yellowstone Club:
Approximately 900 members share 2,700 acres of private terrain.
Gold Rush Heli Skiing:
Just 8 guests per trip with exclusive access to 648,000 acres of spectacular skiing—roughly 240 times the terrain, with 892 fewer people.
Annual snowfall:
Yellowstone Club: ~300 inches
Gold Rush Heli Skiing: Up to 1,200 inches
The investment:
Yellowstone Club:
Requires purchasing a home (average 25 million)
Gold Rush Heli Skiing:
Fully catered heli-ski adventures start at US$13,500 and include luxury private lodge accommodations, chef-prepared meals helicopter skiing and professional guides
Gold Rush Heli Skiing is also offering something even more rare...
