"It was the highlight of our trip."

That's the line that got me. When folks travel all the way out here and our little pontoon tour ends up being the part they remember... that's the whole job, right there.

Here's the full review from Sandra:

"We had a fantastic experience with Tony from Salty Dog Tours! Tony is an incredible storyteller with a wealth of knowledge about Oak Island and its fascinating history.

One of the highlights of the tour was seeing the remarkable artifacts he has personally recovered while diving underwater. His passion for local history and treasure hunting made every story engaging and memorable.

The pontoon tour was relaxing, fun, and full of interesting insights. Tony was friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly loves sharing the history and mysteries of Oak Island.

We highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the area. It was the highlight of our trip!"

Thanks Sandra! Summer 2026 is booking up fast. If you want to be on the boat when the next "highlight of the trip" story happens, now's the time. Send a message or visit saltydogtours.com. Hope to see you on the water!

Once in a while it's easier to step back and let someone else shout your name.

"This was THE BEST tour I have ever been on. Capt. Tony presented his extensive historical knowledge and 40 years of diving experience to his audience in a most captivating and amusing way.

His insights into the treasure quest on Oak Island made us feel like we were part of the exploration itself. This is a must-do event for anyone interested in the rich history of Oak Island and Atlantic shipwrecks and treasure hunting."

Mitchell, this one stuck with me. Thank you for taking the time... reviews like yours are why we keep firing up the boat every morning. Hope to see you back on the water one day!

A few nights back we spent the evening at Steel Wheels Motor Museum celebrating ten years of We Are Young and I’m still feeling pretty inspired by it.

This is an organization that grants dreams to Nova Scotian seniors, and after a decade they’ve got plenty of stories to tell.

Thank you for having us, and thank you for the work you do. The Salty Dog team is firmly in your corner.

Snuck away to Bermuda for a few days before the season kicks into gear — turns out the ocean follows you everywhere.

Back home now with salt in my hair and big plans for summer 2026. To our regulars it feels like a reunion coming. We cannot wait to welcome new faces to the family.

Mahone Bay’s putting on a show this summer and we’ve got the best seats in the house. Book your spot at the link in our bio.

Headphones in. Volume up.

A look at one of the most famous coastlines in Nova Scotia, with nothing between you and it but open water.

Photos don't do it justice. Neither does TV. Come see it from the deck.

The Oak Island & Mahone Bay Adventure — what you're actually signing up for. An afternoon and evening on the water, starting from Oak Island Resort.

We run the Oak Island shoreline first so you can see the treasure hunt sites from the angle the TV show never shows you. After that we take our time through the Mahone Bay Islands, and I'll tell you what I know about the place — which is a lot, some of it probably true.

Mahone Bay is the halfway point. We tie up, head to The Mug & Anchor for wing night, and you get a beer or wine on me! (Meal is not included). No rush. When everyone's ready, we load back up for the cruise home.

Comfortable tritoon, canopy overhead, small group, good company. Thursdays 2:30–7:30. Other days on request.

If you want in, message me or click the link in the bio to secure a spot.

Race Week is coming up August 12–15 and we've got room on the Island Belle if you want to come watch the madness from the best seat going.

Forget standing on the shore squinting at sails. Come out on the water with us and see it all up close.. boats flying past, spinnakers popping, the odd near-miss that makes everyone go quiet for a second. It's brilliant.

Round up your crew and book a private charter. We'll have a laugh, you'll see some incredible sailing, and you'll wonder why you ever watched from land.

Give us a shout to grab a spot before they're gone.

People always ask us — "what else is out there besides Oak Island?"

A lot, actually. Chester is home to some of the most jaw-dropping waterfront properties you've ever seen. We're talking serious old-money and new-money estates tucked along the shoreline where no road will take you. Our Homes of Chester boat tour is the only way to see them.

Fair warning: this one's not on our website. You've gotta call Tony to book it. Trust us, it's worth the call.

The days are getting longer. The sun’s sticking around a little later. And we can almost smell the salt air again.

We’re counting down to being back on the water — engines humming, seabirds overhead, and that first open-water breeze of the season.

Who’s ready to get out on the water with us this year?

Tell us in the comments — are you joining us for an Oak Island tour, Chester Race Week, or just craving that first boat day feeling?

The Halifax Boat Show is in the books for another year.

These events always end up being less about the products and more about the conversations. This weekend was no exception. Got to spend real time with people like Mike & Liz Huntley from Huntley Sub Aqua (Photo #1) and the crew at Mahone Marine ( #2) – the kind of folks who've been doing this long enough that they have stories worth listening to!

Justin from Shore Cycle Marine ( #3) and I talked shop for a while, which is one of my favorite things about this industry – everyone's willing to share what they know. Neil from Atlantic Shark Expeditions ( #4) and I caught up about what's ahead for the season, and I connected with Tracy from Atlantic Boating Magazine ( #5) about what's happening across the maritime community. I also made sure to stop by the MICA ( #6) stand to see what they've been up to.

What I appreciate most about shows like this is the reminder that we're all in this because we love being on the water. The business side matters, sure, but at the end of the day, it's about that shared passion.

Thanks to everyone who stopped me to chat. Already looking forward to next year!
