This is the back of the oldest buildings in Nanaimo (aside from the Bastion) TODAY! We aren’t kidding when we say it’s like stepping back in time. This history needs to be cherished and protected. Nanaimo has a very rich and interesting past.

These two buildings (circa 1880) on Victoria Cresent are the oldest buildings in their original location in Nanaimo. The only building that predates them is the Bastion but it has been moved. When they were built they were on the water. They are also an example of false front buildings and if you are able to see them from the back it’s like stepping back in time.
