🎣 The kids are back to school… and you know what that means — we’ve got the lake back! 😎

The summer crowds have disappeared, the lake has quietened right down, and today there were only a handful of boats out there. But the fishing definitely hasn’t slowed down! 🔥🐟

The past week has been spectacular with tons of surface activity and plenty of hungry fish. We’ve been mixing it up — jigging, trolling, and catching lots of fish!

This is one of our favourite times of year. Cooler days, peaceful water, beautiful scenery, and way less boat traffic. 🍂🏔️

If you’ve been waiting for the perfect time to get out fishing, THIS IS IT! Come enjoy the lake without the summer crowds and let’s put some fish in the boat! 🎣🙌

It’s not very often I find a new fishing hole that gets me so fired up I can pry Mitchell away from his family on his ONLY day off… while his father-in-law and mother-in-law are in town. 😂🎣

But I told him this spot was worth it. And, well… it was.

We may have stayed a few minutes too long. Okay… maybe a couple casts too long. By the time we got back, his truck wasn’t home. 😬 I’m not exactly sure how that story ended, but hopefully Mitch is still able to walk and I’m still allowed to call him tomorrow. 😂

As for the fishing? This new hole DID NOT disappoint.

The bull trout in this picture is probably about a third the size of the absolute dinosaur I watched Mitchell lose. 😳🐟 There may have been a few foul words echoing through the valley after that one… but those are usually the fish you never forget.

Something tells me we’ll be sneaking back in there real soon. Maybe once Mitch gets out of the doghouse. 😂

Fishing is GOOD right now. Get out. Let’s go! 🎣🔥

While the rest of us peasants have been out pounding the ground trying to sniff out that top-secret fishing hole… Mitchell has apparently decided walking is overrated. 😂🚁🎣

He’s been flying around in a helicopter with some very fortunate clients, dropping into a secluded remote coastal river and chasing beautiful rainbows, cutthroat, and bull trout in places most anglers only dream about seeing.

And judging by the fish they’ve been wrestling… let’s just say the boys can SKIP ARMS DAY at the gym this week. 💪🐟🔥

🔥 BUSY WEEK ON THE WATER! 🎣

It’s been one of those weeks where we’re trying to cram everybody in — and we’re doing our best! These are just a few shots from my days on the water — Brad Knowles, aka the Pemberton Fish Finder — doing what I love. 😎🐟

My boy Mitch has been right there with me, crushing out doubles and putting fish in the net! We’re just waiting for a few more pictures to drop from his adventures, and we’ll get you caught up on all the action.

Right now, everything is lining up perfectly. The rivers are in great shape, the weather is fantastic, and the fish are BITING! 🔥

Never fly fished before? Who cares! That’s what we’re here for. There’s no better way to learn than with a fly rod in your hand, a fish on the end of it, and someone beside you showing you the ropes. 🎣🙌

Right back to work after a little family vacay… and what better way to jump back into it than hitting the water with 16 people and my crew! 🎣🙌

It was one of those days that reminds you why we love what we do. We caught a few beauty rainbow trout, did a whole lot of teaching, swapped fishing stories, shared plenty of laughs, and made some new friends along the way.

Fly fishing isn’t always about catching the biggest fish—it’s about learning something new, slowing things down, taking in that incredible BC scenery, and enjoying a day on the water with good people. And when a few gorgeous rainbows decide to play along… even better! 😎🐟

Here are a few more pictures from our Vancouver Island family adventure! 🌊🎣❤️

We were lucky enough to bring home a couple of big, beautiful lingcod — and let me tell you, if you’ve never tasted fresh lingcod, you don’t know what you’re missing! 🤤🐟

There’s just something special about catching your own dinner, bringing it back to the cabin, and enjoying it with the family after another incredible day on the ocean. Great fishing, amazing scenery, plenty of laughs, and memories we’ll be talking about for years.

Vancouver Island never disappoints! 🙌🎣
