🍁 Attention PEC restaurants and producers! Fall Countylicious registration closes Wednesday, September 2 ahead of the Labour Day weekend.

We’re gearing up to finalize our restaurant lineup and launch the next phase of campaign promotion shortly after. Here is what you need to know to get involved:

🍽️ Event Dates: October 22 – November 15, 2026

🍽️ Zero Participation Fee: The only requirement is providing one $100 gift card to support campaign promotions and giveaways.

🍽️ Flexible Registration: Need more time to craft your answers? Feel free to submit your basic registration details first and follow up with your feature questions later. Check the registration doc for a preview of what we'll ask!

Big news at the Purple Barn! 🍇

Closson Chase Vineyards founders are expanding ownership from within, welcoming longtime Winemaker Keith Tyers & GM Erin MacInnis to the ownership group alongside founders Seaton McLean, Michael MacMillan, Eugene McBurney & Sonja Smits. 🥂

Founded in 1998, Closson Chase Vineyards is one of Prince Edward County’s pioneering wineries, known for premium Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, its iconic Purple Barn and historic church on Closson Road, and its longstanding commitment to The County and sustainable winegrowing. Congratulations folks!

Funding is officially open again for support shoulder season events in Prince Edward County! 👏

The Community Partnership Fund is all about supporting local non-profits and business collectives bring visitors to The County during the quieter months. You can apply for up to $2,500 toward a shoulder-season event that drives overnight stays.

Intake 1 Applications: Open NOW until Sept 25 (for events happening Nov 1 – Dec 31, 2026)
Intake 2 Applications: Open Oct 5, 2026 - Nov 13, 2026 (for events happening Jan 1, 2027 and Mar 31)

Time really does fly when you’re having fun! ✨ We can’t believe our time working with the lovely Cloé is almost at an end.

This weekend is her final weekend here in The County at The Regent Theatre Visitor Information Centre. Thank you so much for everything, Cloé. We’re so thrilled we got to host you as our Summer Intern! 💛

We presented our annual report to the municipality’s Committee of The Whole this afternoon, to share our 2025 fiscal update, how each year informs the next, and how responsible tourism enhances the experience of both visitors and residents, supporting local businesses and growing local prosperity. 2025 showed real progress against that mission.

Where exactly do our visitor tax dollars go? Here is the 2025 breakdown of the Municipal Accommodation Tax (MAT)!

The work Visit The County does to attract visitors, especially in the shoulder seasons, helps generate these funds. And by law, half of it goes straight to the Municipality! Since its inception, that 50% has funded:

🛣️ $2M+ for local roads
🚌 Public transit like the Summer Weekend Connector Bus & ride-sharing
🚻 Better amenities like seasonal washrooms, accessible parking, and trail maintenance
🎨 The PEC Arts Fund

25 years of x a new beginning through art 💫👏

On Sunday, Sandbanks Estate Winery and artist Andrew Csafordi of unveiled a commissioned outdoor mural at the winery as part of its 25th anniversary celebrations 🎨🍷

The colourful 8 ft x 12 ft mural is now mounted on the exterior of the tasting boutique & features 5 wine bottle shapes most often found at Sandbanks, and tons of gorgeous designs throughout nod to the winery offerings, from tastings to charcuterie and wine flights to the quintessential Adirondack chairs, and more.

Pictured here are Michelle McIntyre, the winery’s Estate Manager, Andrew Csafordi, Co-owner and Artist / Designer of ANDARA Gallery & Laura Hayes, the winery’s Events & Digital Marketing Manager.

Wow, what a start to a busy and beautiful County summer so far! Our team has been busy prepping for the busy season while thinking ahead to what fall and winter will bring. We can’t wait to keep sharing our work with our industry partners & leaders!

June Highlights ✨

We gathered to watch the Pride Flag raising at Shire Hall to kick off the month Prince Edward County 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

We enjoyed lunch at the newly re-opened Bantam PEC on Picton Main - still dreaming of the ooey gooey sandos 🤤

We bopped over to Bloomfield to stock up the Visitor Information Centre

We met up with Guy Guildworks to chat all things & check out his gorgeous Bloomfield gallery chock-full of Canadian craft

And we finished the afternoon with our laptops relaxing with snacks & a wine tasting at Keint-he Winery & Vineyards 🧀🍷 (one of the many perks of the job is testing it out so we can tell our visitors the first-hand experience 😉) thanks, Chantal, for the wonderful customer service as always!

And if you know us, you know we must finish any in-person day with a “team photo but make it an album cover” 💫
