In 2022, UNESCO inscribed “Traditional tea processing techniques and associated social practices in China” on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, recognizing the cultural significance and enduring vitality of China’s tea traditions.

2026 Taste of China At the “Taste of China” showcase in Toronto’s Sankofa Square, visitors were invited to experience the flavors, warmth, and cultural charm of China. Featuring the signature Taste of China visual display and the vibrant Nihao China branding, the event highlighted authentic cuisine, cultural experiences, and tourism offerings hosted by the China National Tourist Office in Toronto. With interactive booths, tea demonstrations, and the newly announced visa‑free policy for Canadians, the celebration offered a welcoming gateway for travelers eager to explore China in 2026. Luo Weidong, Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Toronto, Ms. Wu Ning, Director of China National Tourist Office in Toronto, MPP Sheref Sabawy, Councillor Chris Moise and other guests attended the event.
