Mandarin Oriental Punta Negra, the brand's Mallorca debut, opened in June on its own pine-covered peninsula along the Costa d'en Blanes, and the dining alone would justify the trip.

Amanemu is Aman's hot spring resort on the Ise-Shima peninsula, a coastline of green coves and fishing villages a couple of hours southeast of Kyoto and Osaka.

Every suite and villa has its own onsen bath fed by mineral-rich thermal springs, so you get Japan's beloved bathing ritual in complete privacy. No shared pools or second-guessing the etiquette.

Iniala Valletta is the only Forbes Five-Star hotel in Malta, four years running, and it just received the country's first two Michelin Keys.

The hotel occupies a row of centuries-old townhouses on St. Barbara Bastion, looking straight across the Grand Harbour. Just 23 rooms, each one different, with a spa carved into the old stone vaults below.

The rooftop is the showstopper: ION Harbour by Simon Rogan, the most celebrated dining room in the country, with the harbour and the Three Cities glowing across the water at sunset. Book that table before you book your flights.

Big news for train lovers. England and Wales finally have their first luxury sleeper train, and it was worth the wait.

The Britannic Explorer, Belmond's newest train, departs London on three-night journeys through Cornwall, Wales, or the Lake District, with just 18 suites on board.

On board you'll find a botanical bar in the observation car and, the part nobody expects, a wellness suite offering treatments while the countryside rolls past. Step off the train for coastal hikes, wild swims in the Lakes, and private gallery dinners.

The dining is reason enough to book. Menus come from Simon Rogan, the chef behind three-Michelin-star L'Enclume.

Ahãma just debuted on Günlüklü Bay, a protected cove on Türkiye's Turquoise Coast between the yacht town of Göcek and Fethiye, and it already carries the Relais & Châteaux badge.

The resort is built into fifty acres of rare liquidambar forest, with timber cabanas hidden under the trees and a glass-walled centerpiece, the Glass House, opening straight to the sea.

Wellness here goes well past a spa menu. Sound baths in a purpose-built Sound Temple, watsu sessions in the water, guided forest bathing on the trails. Four restaurants cover everything from Aegean mezze to Latin flavours, and yachts pull right up to the bay for lunch.

Here's a fun seasonal flip. While we rake leaves, New Zealand is heading into spring, and its lodge season is just beginning.

Blanket Bay tops our list every time. The lodge looks across Lake Wakatipu to the Humboldt Mountains, scenery so cinematic the valleys nearby stood in for Middle-earth on screen, and Queenstown's restaurants and w**eries are only 45 minutes away.

The itinerary here runs on helicopters and rivers. Heli-fishing on water no road reaches, flyovers of Milford Sound, w**e tasting in Central Otago, or nothing at all in the great stone-and-timber lodge room with a fire going.

Vietnam is not a one-stop trip. Basket boats, river valleys, limestone bays, temples, rice terraces, and a very good bowl of noodles all belong to the same country.
