Pacific Rim aboard Regent Seven Seas Splendor is more than a specialty restaurant, it’s a dining experience that lingers long after the last bite.

One piece of travel advice: if your cruise starts in Athens, arrive a day early. 🇬🇷

That’s exactly what we did, and it was great!

We dropped our bags at the hotel and headed straight out to explore. We wandered through the streets of Plaka, browsed the local markets, found a café for an authentic Greek iced coffee, and just enjoyed being there. No schedule, no rushing, just taking it all in.

After lunch and a little more exploring, we headed back to the hotel for a short rest. From our balcony, we had a beautiful view of the Temple of Olympian Zeus.

That evening, we enjoyed dinner while watching the sun set behind the Acropolis. It was one of those moments that makes you stop and appreciate where you are.

The next morning started with creamy Greek yogurt topped with local honey before it was time to head to the port and begin our cruise.

That extra day made all the difference. Instead of arriving tired and going straight to the ship, we started our vacation feeling relaxed and already immersed in Greece.

If Athens is the start of your next cruise, do yourself a favour arrive a day early. You won’t regret it.

One week to go! ✈️⚓

I’ll soon be sailing aboard Regent Seven Seas Splendor on a journey from Athens to Athens, exploring some of the beautiful Greek Islands and Turkey.

I’m looking forward to experiencing the ship, the suites, the dining, the service, the destinations, and those hidden gems firsthand so I can make recommendations based on real experiences not just brochures or websites.

Over the next couple of weeks, I’ll be sharing ship tours, favourite spaces, dining experiences, ports of call, and the little details that help me match the right vacation to the right traveller.
