Bangkok just gained a very interesting new option for business travel.

Fairmont has officially debuted in Thailand with the opening of Fairmont Bangkok Sukhumvit, and this is one we're watching for both executive travel and corporate groups.

Located in the heart of Sukhumvit, the hotel brings together 474 rooms and suites, seven dining concepts rolling out throughout the year, integrated wellness and more than 21,500 square feet of event space.

But what stands out to us is how intentionally those pieces work together.

An executive can move from a meeting to dinner without leaving the property. Groups have spaces ranging from breakout rooms to a grand ballroom. And wellness has been considered throughout the guest experience, giving busy travellers more opportunities to maintain their routines or recover between demanding days.

For companies bringing people to Bangkok, that's an important combination: somewhere that works for the agenda while still giving travellers a meaningful experience of the destination.

Fairmont's first chapter in Thailand looks like one worth watching.

Basic, Flex or fully refundable?

The price difference is easy to see. What you're actually getting for that price isn't always as obvious.

Baggage, seat selection, changes, cancellations and refunds can all vary significantly between airline fare types. For a business traveller whose schedule may change, those details can matter far more than the initial difference in price.

The answer isn't always to buy the cheapest fare or the most flexible one. It's to choose the right fare for the trip.

Our latest guide breaks down what business travellers should know before booking.

It's easy to judge a corporate travel program when everything goes according to plan.

The real test comes when hundreds of flights suddenly don't.

Large-scale disruptions can quickly expose gaps in traveller communication, after-hours support, rebooking processes and contingency planning.

The question isn't whether your organization can prevent the disruption. It's whether your people and your travel partners know exactly what to do when it happens.

Our latest blog explores what airline disruptions can reveal about the strength of your corporate travel program.

Planning your 2027 business travel budget?

Last year's numbers are a useful starting point, but simply adding a percentage to your 2026 spend could leave you planning around assumptions that no longer hold.

A stronger budget considers how your travel needs are changing, which trips deliver the most value, where flexibility is worth paying for, and which less-obvious costs should be accounted for from the beginning.

Your 2027 travel strategy should reflect where your organization is going next.

So should your budget.

The international travel map is starting to look a little different.

United's newly announced expansion includes nonstop routes to cities like Ljubljana, Marseille, Valencia and Luxembourg, many of which have traditionally meant connecting through a larger European hub.

Behind that announcement is a broader aviation trend: newer long-range aircraft are making smaller international routes increasingly viable.

It's something Canadian business travellers should be watching.

As connectivity evolves, destinations that once felt complicated to reach could become more practical for meetings, corporate retreats and business travel.

The future of international travel may be less about getting through the biggest hubs and more about getting closer to where you actually need to be.

A business trip rarely stays exactly as it was booked.

Meetings move. Schedules shift. Travelers get added. Flights change. And suddenly, the itinerary you carefully planned needs to be planned again.

That's where great travel support really shows its value.

One of our clients shared:

“Inspired is the only corporate travel agency you will ever need. Excellent service and incredible patience with our constantly changing itineraries. I have no hesitation in recommending them for reliable, professional and exceptional service.”

We're proud of the seamless trips we help create. But we're equally proud of what happens when those trips aren't seamless at all.

Because flexibility, patience and having a real person ready to help can make all the difference when plans change.

Imagine a corporate retreat where the org chart doesn't determine who sits together, who participates together, or who gets the best table.

Instead, the experience is intentionally designed to bring people together outside their usual roles.

That might mean a CEO and coordinator sharing dinner, departments mixing during an activity, or colleagues finally having conversations they would never have during a typical workday.

That's the thinking behind the "No-Name-Tag Retreat."

Our latest blog explores why some of the most valuable retreats are the ones that allow people to step outside the hierarchy for a while.

There's an interesting contradiction happening in business travel right now.

Companies are scrutinizing travel costs more carefully, while major airlines continue investing heavily in premium cabins, lounges and elevated airport experiences.

But those two trends may not be as contradictory as they seem.

For business travellers, premium can mean better rest, more productive time in transit and less friction throughout the journey. On the right trip, those benefits may be worth considerably more than the upgrade itself.

Perhaps the conversation isn't really about whether companies should spend more or less on travel.

It's about knowing when it's worth spending more.

Where would you draw the line?
