The journey often starts with a place you can’t stop thinking about.

Mist rising through the Great Bear Rainforest, ancient cultural sites in Haida Gwaii, glaciers and whales in Alaska, or the wild coastlines of Vancouver Island.

If one of those journeys is already on your calendar — or you’ve been waiting for the right moment to make it official — now is one of the best opportunities of the year to save.

Pay your voyage in full and save 5% on your final balance.

Already booked? Reduce the remaining cost of your adventure. Still deciding? This may be the nudge that turns “someday” into something you can start looking forward to now.

Fall in the Gulf Islands keeps you on your toes—but that’s part of the experience.

Golden vineyards, changing weather and days shaped around what nature gives us. Then, after exploring ashore, there’s the sight of Cascadia glowing in the anchorage—with dinner and a glass of BC w**e waiting aboard.

Expedition Leader Alina shares her favourite parts of Wines & Islands 🍷🍂

What changes when you explore the Gulf Islands by boat? Quite a lot.

Quiet anchorages, hidden stretches of coastline, arbutus-covered shores—and, if the weather plays along, some spectacular autumn light.

Expedition Leader Alina shares why seeing the Gulf Islands from the water is such a different experience. 🍂

Open wide! 🐋

This humpback is trap feeding, a remarkable hunting technique where it creates a “trap” for schooling fish before lunging upward with its mouth wide open. The long, comb-like plates hanging from its upper jaw are baleen, which act like a giant sieve. As the whale closes its mouth, seawater is forced back out while fish are trapped inside.

📹 Shot by Maple Leaf crew from a respectful, legal distance using a 600mm telephoto lens. Vessel remained stationary with engines off, in compliance with distance laws.

Nine guests. Five crew. One incredible coastline.

A vintage glimpse into the early days of Maple Leaf Adventures, and the spirit that still guides us forty years on.

From the archives: the Great Bear Rainforest, as wild and wondrous now as it was then.

Forty years of travelling this coast by small ship has only deepened our respect for it.

Every voyage tells a different story.

Some are written in humpback whale sightings and sea otter encounters. Others unfold through conversations with Haida Watchmen, quiet forest trails and evenings at anchor beneath impossibly dark skies.

Over the next few days, follow along in our Stories as we share moments inspired by one recent expedition through Haida Gwaii—a glimpse into what it feels like to explore Gwaii Haanas by small ship.

If you’ve ever wondered what a Maple Leaf expedition is really like, this is where the story begins.

A few spaces remain on our upcoming July departures to Haida Gwaii. Join us while summer is at its most alive.

The flag flies a little higher when you’re celebrating four decades of exploring this coast 🇨🇦

Today, we’re celebrating the places that connect us—from rugged shorelines and sheltered inlets to the communities, cultures, and stories that shaped this coast long before Canada was born. We believe the maple leaf can stand for curiosity, stewardship, respect, and a shared responsibility to care for the places we call home.
