When the world paused during the pandemic, Arianna Casaburo – an Italian fashion designer and kitesurfing instructor living in Santa Maria – took a walk through the empty streets. What she saw broke her heart: grey walls, lifeless alleys, tired façades that no longer reflected the vibrant spirit of the people living there.
But Arianna didn’t look away. She got to work – rallying friends from Cabo Verde and abroad, picking up brushes, gathering colors, and founding Arte d’Zona. 💛
Their first mission? Rua d’Caca. What was once a dull alley turned into a joyful, colorful oasis — with neighbors, kids, and even actor Victor Silva joining in. That’s the power of community, creativity, and care.
