Autumn is incredibly beautiful in Japan. 🍁

Almost everybody knows about the Sakura cherry blossom season in spring. And almost everyone travels to Japan at that time. 🙈

But autumn is just as magical, thanks to the red momiji maples and a more relaxed vibe. We're not even going to try to describe it here - it’s indescribable - so drop us a line and explore Japan, to experience this special season for yourself. ✈️

Amanemu. The hidden pearl of Japan. 🇯🇵

Nestled within the folds of Ise-Shima National Park in Mie Prefecture, Amanemu is off the typical tourist path. It’s a three-hour train journey from Kyoto, or four hours from Tokyo. Alternatively, one can catch a helicopter from Nagoya.

We recommend this place to adults who revel in slow travel. Families with children are also welcome, however the grown-up feel isn’t the most exciting vibe for kids.

Inspired by the simplicity of classic Japanese ryokans, the property elevates its surroundings perfectly. The atmosphere is zen-inducing and very harmonious. If this is the ambience you crave, then you can’t go wrong. 👌🏼

Where to go in September? Get inspired by our seven tips! 👇🏼

1) Sicily. The holiday crowds have already left the island, and the heat is no longer as intense. September is the ideal time to enjoy the warm sea and take trips around the island.

2) Portugal. How about a combination of picturesque Porto, the Douro wine region, and Lisbon? In September, Madeira and the Azores are also great choices. Or will rural Alentejo catch your interest?

3) Kenya. The Masai Mara region is the stage for the grand migration of 1.5 million wildebeest from the Serengeti, and at this time of year, the savannah is teeming with wildebeest, zebras, and other herbivores.

4) Canada. Embark on a real adventure in the land of the maple leaf. September still offers nice weather, and most of the crowds have already left.

5) Bali. Take advantage of the dry season for a holiday on this famous island, but it's essential to plan the trip wisely, as Bali can be extremely touristy, even unpleasant, in many places. A combination with the Komodo Islands might be interesting!

6) Cyprus. The ideal destination for extending the European summer season and enjoying a seaside holiday.

7) Rwanda. The summer season is the best time for trekking to see mountain gorillas, as the dry conditions make jungle hiking ideal.

An easy summer seaside holiday with kids. Welcome to IKOS Odissia. 🇬🇷

Ikos Odisia has been beautifully curated, with low-slung buildings that blur into the natural landscape and give the resort a real sense of space. Even at full occupancy this resort remains tranquil and the contemporary Ikos all-inclusive concept is done superbly all across the property. 👍

We recommend the resort to families who want an easy resort holiday on the beach, with nothing to think about and plenty of experiences for both the kids and adults. Overall the resort has one of the most family-friendly environments we’ve ever experienced!

Introducing the new One&Only Kéa Island resort 🇬🇷

The younger of the two new One&Only properties in Greece is enjoying its first summer season. It opened on June 1 and in common with all new hotels, it takes time to perfect service and operations. We expect 100% service levels next summer.

For this summer, One&Only Aesthesis near Athens is a safer choice. O&O Kea Island will close for the winter on October 31 and reopen on April 1, 2025. We will do our own inspection before next summer and share our impressions with you. We have very high expectations for next summer. 👀

The resort offers private villas with one or two bedrooms. Kea is an unusually peaceful island, but it is only 30 minutes from Athens and transport (by boat or helicopter) is fast and comfortable. 🚁

Introducing the new Rosewood Schloss Fuschl in Austria 🥰

A gloriously renovated 15th century castle on the shores of Lake Fuschl. With loads of outdoor activities, elegant rooms, private lakeside chalets and great food. Rosewood Schloss Fuschl opened on July 1st and we were invited to the pre-opening weekend. 👀

It's only 4.5 hours by car from Prague or Brno, 30 minutes from Salzburg, with the Alps around the corner. As with most new hotels, the service isn't perfect...yet. Raising the service to the Rosewood standard will take time, as it's a brand new opening and team. Rosewood itself is aware of this potential negative and this is reflected in the prices. Expect to pay considerably more next year than this year for the same reservation. 💸

The most beautiful pool in the Alps? 😍

There are many candidates for this award, but the beautiful 50m pool in Krallerhof, Austria, wins it for us this summer! 🏆

Overall, Krallerhof is a super choice for a summer holiday in the mountains. It's a short drive (6 hours from Prague, 5.5 from Brno) and the resorts is suitable for couples and families alike. There are plenty of activities, from a very well equipped spa to tennis, golf, cycling and of course hiking. People who are interested in biohacking and longevity will also find something to do here. 👍🏼

A high-end boutique resort in Antalya. Finally! Welcome to BIJAL! 🙌🏼

Between all the monstrous all-inclusive hotels in Antalya, Turkey, BIJAL feels like a fresh breeze. It offers accommodation exclusively in villas, of which there are only 19. What's more, BIJAL is brand new and the design is reminiscent of the Maldivian JOALI, which is no coincidence - both are owned by Turkish businesswoman and one of the global luxury hospitality leaders, Esin Güral Argat. 🇹🇷

Mornings at Hotel Passalacqua on Lake Como 🥰

On the shores of Lago di Como you will find a variety of amazing hotels. From old restored villas to contemporary design, Como is the most luxurious of the Italian lakes.

One of our favourites is Passalacqua - a hotel in an 18th century villa, the former home of composer Vincenzo Bellini. Passalacqua was created by the De Santis family, who are also behind the Grand Hotel Tremezzo. Set in magnificent terraced gardens, the hotel has only 24 rooms, each showcasing Italian craftsmanship and Baroque elegance. 👌🏼

Last year, Passalacqua came number one in the inaugural World’s Best 50 Hotels. If you are planning a trip to Como this year, we definitely recommend you consider this option! 😉
