I would like to give you useful tips where to go and what to see when you spend your holiday in Prague. My name is Eva, I´m Prague tour guide and I run a small agency called Sightseeing Prague.

dition (listed on UNESCO herritage list) but it is not an "open-air museum" but a modern and living city. Basic facts:
Location: 50°05′N 14°25′E
Population 1 250 000 inhabitants (it is the largest Czech city. The population of Czech Republic is approx. 10 millions). Density: 2,522.3/km2

Main sites:
Prague Castle: historical seat of Czech kings. Vitus Cathedral. Largest castle complex in the whole world. Old Town with Astronomical Clock (see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=82-Zo_hFcCE)
Charles Bridge: Gothic bridge decorated by 30 groups of barrogue statues - called "open-air" gallery. Jewish Quarter with Old-New Synagogue and Old Cemetery. Lesser Town with St. Nicholaus Church, Infant Jesus and plenty of romantic streets. And last but not least: Czech beer is the world´s best and if you like this drink you must come and taste as much brands as possible! The aim is not to get drunk and fall down the table, but 2 or 3 beers will make you understand everythink for a while :-)

Merry Christmas from Prague!
Every year I wonder, when I will get the last order for Christmas gift - Prague tour voucher. So far the winner is a guy who called on Christmas Eve at 2 pm. To really appreciate it, you should know that we give the gifts on Christmas Eve at about 5 - 8 pm here in Czechia, because looong time ago the days started with sunset for our ancestors. So when the sun set on 24th, it was already Christmas day and time to celebrate. Smart, isn´t it? Can´t imagine to be 5 years old and wait until morning!
So once again, merry Christmas!

Každý rok čekám na rekordmana v pozdním nakupování dárků. Zatím vede jeden pán, který mi volal na Štědrý den kolem druhé hodiny - samozřejmě jsme to stihli, poukázku mám hotovou za deset minut, on si ji jenom vytisknul... Vlastně volal o tři hodiny dřív, než musel :-)

Moji milí, kteří jste zaměstnaní v korporátech, mám na vás dotaz: jak je to letos s firemními benefity (Sodexo, Edenred, fondy na kulturu...). Letos je moc nebylo kde utratit, kulturní akce nejsou, fitka mají zavřeno... Zkrouhly to firmy a přestaly je zaměstnancům dávat (stejně musí šetřit), nebo naopak automaticky prodlužují platnost?
Doufala jsem ve variantu 2 - benefity máte a nemáte je kde utratit, tak si budete ve velkém kupovat moje poukazy na prohlídky. Benefity a fondy vám nepropadnou a budete mít další rok i víc na jejich využití. Na základě téhle úvahy jsem letos navázala spolupráci se Sodexo, Edenred, už loni jsem brala benefity.cz. Tak co myslíte, bude to fungovat?
Prosím, sdílejte - mně to pomůže určitě a možná i nějakému kamarádovi nebo kamarádce, kteří mají balík na benefitech od firmy a zatím nevědí, že touží po prohlídce Prahy :-)

Christmas tree at Old Town Square in Prague. There won't be Christmas market in Prague this year, but the tree is really nice. It comes from someone's private garden - there's a small competition for the best tree for Prague. This would have been cut anyway as its roots caused some troubles to the nearby building,so it will make the square more beautiful.

Betlém a vánoční stromeček na Kampě. Na Staromáku už taky zdobí... Teď jen co pod stromečky dát. Hm, hm, že by poukázku ...
