Today is your last day to vote for the Bridgehunter Awards. Several candidates in Saxony are in the running including the Carola Bridge in Dresden and Grimma Suspension Bridge (Bridge of the Year), as well as Rosenstein Bridge in Zwickau (Best Example of a Restored Historic Bridge), the Elbe River Bridges (Best Bridge Media and Genre) and other candidates from Germany. Our next Bridgehunter Award candidate is the Carola Bridge in Dresden- or what's left of it. The GDR-built Elbe River structure collapsed on Sept. 11, 2024 and has been recently condemned. With a complete demolition and replacement sealed, the question is what new structure will be in place? I wrote an article about this a few weeks ago which you can read and place your comments.
