🕊️ This morning I finished talking with my dad. He’s doing great, he’s alert, and the doctors are very happy because he’s recovering really well. 🙏
While we were talking I told him:
“Papito, we reached the goal (GoFundMe). Everyone who loves you and wants to see you back with the birds helped make your surgery possible.”
And you know what was the first thing he said?
“I prayed so hard to my God not to take me, to let me keep going with my birds. He gave me this gift, and I begged Him so much not to take me, to let me stay with my little birds and with my “viejita” (my mom).”
And he made it. 💚
He’s in intensive care for now, he’ll be there one more day, then they’ll move him to a regular room, and in a few days he’ll be home.
Dear friends, from the bottom of my heart and my family’s, my mother María, my brother Miler, myself, Vinicio, and my father, the Antpitta Man, I want to tell you that we will never forget your incredible support. Not only because of your donations, but because of the immense love you showed us: the messages, the emails, and your prayers.
When I would read to my dad and tell him about each one of your messages, you filled him with hope. He was very afraid, and we cried together because just the thought that they had to stop his heart made us think about so many things.
But in the end, as we were getting him ready for surgery, my family, all of you, helped him surrender into God’s hands and feel at peace. And that’s exactly what happened.
When he was wheeled out of the room, all he said was:
“I’ll be back, viejita, don’t worry.”
And that’s exactly what happened. 🙌
As the doctor said: “Serafín… sin Fin”
Serafín is my father’s name: Ángel Serafín… Sin Fin. Hahaha.. 😂
To all the bird lovers and followers of my father:
Thank you, thank you, may God bless you with so much more.
And the Antpitta Man still has a long way to go. 💪
We’ll be here, for what we were created to do: love the birds and love conservation. We’ll always be here protecting what you once saw and supported, so that many more can understand the importance of birds and preserving the forest in Ecuador.

🕊️ Esta mañana acabé de hablar con mi papá. Está súper bien, está consciente, y los doctores están muy contentos porque se está recuperando muy bien. 🙏
Mientras conversábamos le dije:
“Papito, ya alcanzamos la meta (GoFundMe). Todos quienes te aman y quieren verte con las aves nos ayudaron para tu operación.”
Y saben lo primero que me dijo?
“Yo le pedí mucho a mi Dios que no me lleve, que me permita seguir con mis aves. Él me dio esta virtud, y le rogué tanto que no me lleve, que me deje seguir con mis avecitas y con mi vieja (mi mamá).”
Y lo logró. 💚
Está en terapia intensiva por ahora, va a estar un día más, luego lo suben al cuarto, y en unos días estará en casa.
Queridos amigos, desde el fondo de mi corazón y del de mi familia, mi madre María, mi hermano Miler, yo, Vinicio, y mi padre, el Hombre Antpitta, quiero decirles que nunca podremos olvidar su gran apoyo. No solo por sus donaciones, sino por el gran amor que nos brindaron: los mensajes, los emails y sus oraciones.
Cuando le leía y le contaba a mi papá cada uno de sus mensajes, ustedes le llenaban de esperanza. Él tenía mucho miedo, y llorábamos juntos porque tan solo pensar en que debían parar su corazón nos hacía pensar en muchas cosas.
Pero al final, cuando lo estábamos alistando para la cirugía, mi familia, ustedes y todos nos ayudaron para que él se entregara en manos de Dios y estuviera tranquilo. Y así fue.
Cuando salió de la habitación, solo dijo:
“Volveré, vieja, tranquila.”
Y así fue. 🙌
Como dijo el doctor: “Serafín… sin fin.”
Serafín es el nombre de mi padre: Ángel Serafín… sin fin. Jajaja
Amantes de las aves y seguidores de mi padre:
Gracias, gracias, que Dios los bendiga con mucho más.
Y el Hombre Antpitta está para largo rato. 💪
Aquí estaremos, para lo que fuimos creados: amar las aves y amar la conservación. Aquí estaremos siempre protegiendo lo que ustedes algún día vieron y apoyaron, para que muchos más entiendan la importancia de las aves y de conservar el bosque en Ecuador.
