I recently completed hotel block bookings for a club volleyball team for a few tournaments in 2027 and it got me thinking… this is one job I can take off the plates of coaches, managers and team organizers!

If your team is travelling for tournaments, I can help coordinate your hotel room blocks — at no cost to the club.

How does it work?
* I contact hotels and source options for your tournament dates
* I negotiate group rates and review the booking terms
* I reserve a block of rooms, most of them can be held up until 30 days before the tournament date

🔗 Parents receive the booking information and book/pay for their own room individually

The best part? There is no cost to the club for me to arrange it.

It’s getting real! 🇪🇬✨

The full itinerary (with ALL the details!) is officially going out to my November Egypt group tomorrow! 🥰

I’m so excited to be hosting this group and sharing a country that has become so special to me — alongside trusted local guides, egyptologists and drivers.

From Cairo to the Red Sea and the Nile, we have such an incredible trip ahead of us.

Our November group is officially FULL… but seeing everything come together has me thinking ahead. 👀

🎒 My biggest backpacking tip? Bigger is NOT always better.

I’ve been using Osprey backpacks for years, and they truly last. If you know you’re going to travel regularly and want something you can use trip after trip, I personally think investing in a good-quality backpack is worth the money.

My go-to is a 40L Osprey and one of my favourite things about it is that I can travel with it as my carry-on. Of course, airline size and weight rules vary, but I’ve personally never had an issue carrying mine on, which means no checking my main backpack and no waiting at baggage claim.

And trust me… you probably do not need a 60L+ backpack. The more room you have, the more you’ll pack — and then you’re the one carrying it around. For most trips, I think 40–50L is more than enough.

For my upcoming two-week trip to Pakistan 🇵🇰, we’re doing a TON of day hiking, so I’m changing up my usual setup a little:

40L Osprey → my main travel bag
26L Osprey → my day-hiking bag

I’ll leave the 40L at our accommodation and use the 26L for the trails.

If I’m backpacking somewhere where I’m not doing a bunch of hiking, I normally pair my 40L with a small crossbody/day bag instead. There’s no point carrying a second backpack unless I actually need it.

And if you’re buying a backpack for one trip and don’t see yourself using it much afterwards, you absolutely don’t need to spend a fortune. There are plenty of lower-cost options out there. But if backpacking, hiking and adventure travel are going to be part of your life for years, this is one piece of gear I think is worth investing in.

🇪🇺 Europe delays parts of its new biometric border system.

Nine European countries, including France, Italy, Greece, Portugal, Germany and Switzerland, have been given more time to fully implement EES biometric checks amid concerns about airport capacity and long queues. Spain is moving ahead with full implementation.

🇪🇬🇦🇺 EgyptAir announces a new Cairo–Sydney connection for 2027.

EgyptAir plans to launch a new service connecting Cairo, Singapore and Sydney in 2027 — creating another connection between Australia and Egypt and opening up easier onward travel through Cairo.

🇹🇭 Thailand changes its visa-free stay rules
Beginning September 15.

Thailand is reducing the standard visa-exempt stay from 60 days to 30 days. Another good reminder to always double-check the latest entry requirements for your passport before travelling!

🇮🇩🇹🇭 Bali + Phuket just got easier to combine into one trip!

A new nonstop route between Bali and Phuket launched September 9, connecting two of Southeast Asia’s most popular vacation destinations without the need for a layover.

🇰🇪🦁 A new airport gateway to the Maasai Mara is in the works.

Kenya is progressing with the development of Narok Airport, which is expected to improve access to the Maasai Mara and support tourism in the region. Construction is currently expected to be completed later this fall.
