Many of our guests ask about our story why we moved from the Netherlands to Spain and what we did in NL before starting our B&B adventures together with our 2 daughters and dog Soy.

End of 2023 the idea of changing our lives in NL to follow our dream in Spain was a path with many difficulties. In the end we went through all the necessary steps to become B&B owners in the beautifull place of Malaga in Los Montes de Malaga we found our dreamlocation.

Our (Italian) recipe for making your own Limoncello or Arancello.

Together with our fellow neighbour we got to learn making these 2 beautifull and delicious products to taste. The citrons and oranges are perfect for making both limoncello 🍋 and Arancello 🍊. Here is the plan to make it yourself:

1. Take 15 citrons or oranges and cut them in thin peels with a vegetable peeler
2. Use a pan or glass which can be 100% closed. You could use tape but the best way is to close it 100% with a pressure lock (see the picture) minimum 3 litres capacity
3. Put 1 litre of 95% drinkable alcohol in the pan or glass and close it for a period of at least 3 weeks (max 6 weeks). Leave it fully closed in a dark space.
4. Once 3-6 weeks left in full darkness start with mixing 1.5 litres of water and boil it with 600 grams of sugar. Be sure that you let this fully return to cold temperature before adding this with the alcohol with citrons/oranges
5. Be sure to stir the mix and after good stirring add the substance in a dense sieve or cloth in the bottle(s).
6. After filling your bottle(s) leave them for at least 1 week in the fridge before ready to taste. You can also decide to put it shortly in the freezer

In general you can try with different amounts of sugar until you find the best balance for yourself. We prefer a bit more sweetness. For the arancello we prefer mixing it.

The beauty of nature 🦉🐝🦋🦎🐍🐦

Cortijo Juan Salvador is hidden on a mountaintop in the valley of Los Montes de Malaga. This nature park is known for the many beautifull birds & animals living here and also because of the many hiking routes and cyclists.

Last week a Danish photographer made these beautifull photos directly at and around the Cortijo.

We see many nature loving people enjoy the rich biodiversity especially in this period of the year when many trees and plants are waking up in a beautifull green surrounding its the best time to visit us. Enjoying being outside, the delicious food of the private chef or cook yourself outside on the Greenegg or Ofyr, reading a book at the pool we see many of our guests enjoying, spending quality time together, re-connect with the families & themselves where nature helps in this process too.

We have a limited last minute availability for 19 till 22 May and 26 - 29 May. The weather is great with a dry and sunny stable 25-28 degrees for this and next week. 🌳🌞🌸🌺🌙☀️🍽️
