About Us

The English Funeral Service is owned and run by Tony Smith, Tony says “I am the only qualified English Funeral Director working in the Murcia Province. My company provides a complete 24hr funeral service to the whole of Costa Calida, Costa Blanca South and the Costa Almeria regions of Spain. y obtained his diploma in funeral directing and then in 1997 a diploma in embalming. Tony managed a private funeral home for eleven years and in 2001 became a senior manager of the

Co-operative funeral service, arranging and conducting over 1000 funerals per year with a total of 27 staff. In 2006 Tony moved to Spain where he joined Golden Leaves providing pre-paid funeral plans to the expatriate community. Tony soon extended his services and now is able to provide a complete English funeral service, as well as having many different was of paying for your funeral.

Tony & Michelle, The English Funeral Directors, warmly invite you to their annual Christmas Remembrance service—a gentle, comforting space to honour and remember your loved ones during the holiday season.

The holidays can bring a mix of emotions, and our memorial tree service offers a meaningful way to feel connected. Whether your loved one passed away recently or many years ago, you are welcome to take part in this tender act of remembrance.

We invite you to write a personal message, memory, or prayer on a star provided on the evening, or beforehand if you cannot join us in person. During the service, you will have the opportunity to place your star upon our Christmas memory tree, where it will be lovingly dedicated.

While remembering can be emotional, our service is designed to be a warm, uplifting gathering that celebrates the lives of those we hold dear. Together, we will share in a peaceful selection of poems, prayers, Christmas carols, and quiet moments for reflection.

We would be honoured to welcome you and walk alongside you in remembrance this season. Please reach out to us directly for details on service times and how to receive your star in advance.

With immense sadness we announce the sudden, tragic, passing of Nick Martin.

He was an amazing man and a lot of things to a lot of people but most importantly, as many of you who've known him know, his proudest achievement was being a Father to Christopher, his beloved son.
