The Ultreia y Suseia's meaning.
It's medieval gallego and "Ultra" means ahead, in the front of and "Eia" is an interjection of movement, and poorly, would mean moving ahead, forward.
"Sus" represents elevation, suspension and in this case elevation of the spirit, of the soul.
And, it was used in ancient times when the Camino was "patrolled" and secured by knights, that normally belong to religious orders such as the Santiago, Hospitalarios or Calatrava's Orders.
And, the pilgrims, when they met this Knights would tell them "Ultreia" - keep on moving forward and protecting us, this knights, normally horseback riding and on a higher position would humbly answer "Suseia" - let your spirit rise and be elevated while walking towards Santiago!!!
Nowadays, the Buen Camino is the common greeting expression although you'll find this very special along your way on the Camino de Santiago.

Our Reconquista Camino group arrived safe and sound to Santiago de Compostela!!
They lived 2 intense weeks and faced many challenges, but no one said it would be easy: only it would be worthy! It really was and our dear Carlos Castelhano did a great job as usual!!

Our Story

Ultreia y Suseia is a family owned Iberian company specialized in the organization of unique experiences on the Camino de Santiago. We are Yoli and Rui and we met on the Camino Ingles, in 2014. And, by combining our shared love of the Camino and our large background in Costumer Service and Hospitality Management, we brought Ultreia y Suseia to life! “We felt so touched by our own personal experience and by all the persons from all over the World that we’ve met along the way, that we feel compeled to share our experience and knowledge about the amazing Camino de Santiago Experience.” - says Yolanda.
